Pro:

Hampson's confidence is soaring with each match.

Cons:

10min fade out to start the last quarter. Lapses in concentration like this will cost you a final.

PROS

My gut instinct about the quality of the list in 2011 vindicated.
All my preseason bets are going to give me another good return in 2011.
Great team balance. Great job by WH, MC and Ratts. Got them all firing and playing for their lives.
Forwardline is unbeatable: Kreuzer, Henderson, Walker, Betts, Garlett...now add Waite.
Midfield is the best in business: Judd, Murphy, Ellard, Robinson, Simpson, Scotland, Curnow, with Gibbs, Russell, Walker, Garlett, Betts and Yarran running through there too...unbeatable.

The backline press gives us more midfield help with plenty of run and skill: Tuohy, Duigan, Jamison, along with Gibbs and Russell.
Didn't miss Waite, Laidler, Bower, Warnock, Houlihan, Setanta, White, Armfield, Joseph, McLean, Lucas, Watson, Collins...
We are aiming to take top of the ladder position from Cats and Pies. They know we have arrived.
Tuohy has finally cracked a spot in the seniors. He's here to stay. Hot footballer.

CONS

I did back us to win by 10 goals, just as I did last week, but truly expected 15 goal wins. (Greedy)
We don't play Cats till the finals, and Pies for another 5 weeks, then probably the GF.
We are not in our rightful spot at the top of the ladder.

I'm going to have to hear Negative Nellies find something negative to say about the Board, a Player or the Coach...or something about a lid.

I"M LOUD and PROUD to be a BLUEBAGGER. :fight: :smoking:

WE'RE BACK.

Can you please explain how keeping a lid on it is being negative?

PROS

- we played strong, hard disciplined team football. No passengers indeed.
- very methodical and generally good decision making shown out there.
- most even performance seen for some time.
- Special mention to Ellard. Watching at the ground it's often hard to see good work inside the packs. TV showed that he was very slick with his work by hand. He was also ferocious with his tackling!
- Hendo's 1st qtr showed what lies ahead once his fitness and strength improve.

CONS

- there seemed to be quite a few fans paying at the gate. If that was the case then wish they'd get on board and grab a 3 game membership.
- Judd's goalkicking
- lions jumper :screwy:

Agree Maxy, he was terrific yesterday and is becoming an important goal kicker too.

Cons: Running to catch the tram home in Elizabeth st, took a massive tumble as someone pushed a bike out in front of me. One of those slow motion ones and ended up on my back with a large crowd surrounding me. A real show stopper.

Pros -

- Jamo MUST be all Australian!!! One word - "Class!". He reads the play better than anybody in the comp!

- Walker. God I am really loving watching him play right now.

- Henderson. CHF looks perfect for him. Still so young too. Think how he's gonna be with another year or two under his belt.

- Mitch. Big pro......... But (see below)

- Belief. We have it......... And others should be scared of that, and probably are.

- Playing on at all costs. Looks to be working for us. Although we can be top cute sometimes.

- Hampson. Showing improvement..... but still needs to do more around the ground. Great mark though.

- Zach / jamo / Garlett / betts - All rookie picks. Talk about top notch recruting. Zach fitted in nicely. He's gonna be a 100+ gamer I reckon.

Cons:-

- Roof open. Talk about annoying. I could see the scoreboard most of the time cause of the
glare.
- lines to get into the ground????? How is it that in 10 years they still haven't fixed this??? What a joke!
- robbo. Big pro...... But also a con. Love his die hard dedication but he needs to calm down a little bit.
- being too cute. Don't get me wrong, I love the play on at all costs attacking style. But there's such a thing of "stuffing around" with it too much!

If it's me you're asking dane, I'll explain. Regardless of how well we are going, I am still going to hear something negative from some posters, whether it's to do with WH, the MC, the Board, Ratts or how we celebrate this newfound success.

I think its a negative that we have to hear posters suggest keeping a lid on it when I've had to put up with negative posters and the blackest period in my Carlton supporting life for the last decade.

I'm going to be loud and proud because all opposition supporters know we have arrived and are the real deal.
They hate the fact that we have something real to brag about, so I'm taking the opportunity to brag and hang shit wherever I can. Why keep a lid on it? Sure the players should keep a lid on it because it's one week at a time for them, (and aspot in the team at risk) but for us supporters all we look for is an opportunity to brag about our feats.

Yes I was talking to you.
I guess we are different like that. I don't believe that saying keep a lid on it for the moment is being at all negative. It is simply saying keep your head down till we actually do something significant. Then the gloating can begin and it will be even sweeter after all these dark years.

I respect your position and it makes sense.

I was stirring negative posters in my CONS comment, because there's always something negative to come out from them whether we win or lose...so I threw in the lid comment without thinking too much.

I didn't even notice you suggested to keep a lid on it, so I was just generally hanging shit, and not being too specific. Maybe I should be suspended 1 week for negligence. I'll accept that and provide a guilty plea, and still live on to continue to hang shit on the other teams' supporters (it's only banter in fun), and be loud and proud.

I'm just getting warmed up for the finals campaign, because when we do win the first finals game, I will be really loud, and therefater as we win week by week I know I will be unbearable to opposition supporters at the game after what I've been put through over the last decade.

I guess that's me. I'm comfortable with that. I'm extremely passionate.

Each to their own, and I can't wait till all Blues supporters (glass half full and half empty) are all on the same side having won the Flag, gloating and singing that brilliant song...da da dadada....

Glass is 80% full here but I won't be sticking my head above the wall until number 17 is won.

And then I might sit smugly in a corner.

As you probably know bondi, I am pretty hot on Carlton related negativity! Just thought you might be clumping me with negative posters!

I am loving that every week we are looking better, and 17 is starting to appear on the horizon.

Pros are fairly obvious. I would add that I like it how our players back their own teammates to win the contest and don't overcommit to contests. How many times did Brisbane players spoil each other? It looked like Carlton of 3 or 4 years ago.

The cons are relatively minor but need to be taken into consideration.

I think Curnow is a little slow hand to foot and needs to improve in this area, particularly in a finals atmosphere.

Thornton seemed to be having some words with Ratten in the last quarter. Wonder what happened. Thornton hadn't been that good on Brown, admittedly the supply was better to him in that last quarter.

No it doesn't - the MCG runs East-West whilst Etihad Stadium is North-South, not exactly but close enough.

That's the main issue with Etihad, because the sunshine comes in from the north.
