His dad has already indicated elsewhere that he has no interest in leaving.

How things have changed for Walker. Now having his longest run in the side without being injured. No wonder he doesnt want to leave.

Truth be told I dont think his set shots for goal have ever been an issue - in particular he has rarely had opportunities to kick for goal as he has mainly been played in defence or deep in the mid-field.

Its more been his target field kicking which has been a problem - as he has had a habit of trying to drill his short passes which has led to problems in him hitting targets.

Agree with this

A very very very important player for us moving forward, particularly if we are going to go deep in September and early October.

Well said Agro. It was those stabbing foot passes that brought him undone imo. I thought he was a good set shot at goal.

When playing as a running back man he did have shots at goal but usually after he'd broken a couple of lines and sprinted 150 metres. Kicked a few. Missed a few. But standing shot he was good.

Thing that bugs me, is they played him fwd in a game I think against Port at Etihad (before it was named so) a few years back, and he looked very dangerous. Kicked a lovely goal on the run, burbned his opponent running around the boundary, then turned back inside and snapped across his body, it was an electrifying goal

Then they never played him there again

Til it was almost too late

Blue Sombrero had been calling for him to be played forward for years - finally the MC heard him!!!

Perception only, but I also think that in the backline when he missed targets it was the length of the kick either landing at the feet or over the head of the player rather than missing either side hence kicking for goal is not a problem.

Better get this one done soon, he would've bumped his price up a fair bit the last two weeks.

Put the contract anywhere inside the forward 50 and he will not miss.

That's fine, but if he doesn't want to be part of a great team to be a well paid lonely forward in another developing team (eg GWS), well he aint going to match the feats he will achieve by staying with his true buddies at Carlton, especially after being in 7-8 years of darkness.

He aint going anywhere, unless he doesn't care about his reputation/rating as a Pick 2 in the Cooney Draft.

He has a chance to make a name for himself as a Carlton great and a great No 2 pick. I have never doubted it would happen.
I didn't really believe that he was being shopped around last year, and couldn't believe there were no takers.

By staying, he can stick it right up those who undervalued him at the Dogs and Crows...and all others who didn't want his services post 2010.

He's ours, and we're his to keep.
Love is a beautiful thing.

I can smell what Tex is cooking.

you wonder how many other players are out there playing in the wrong part of the ground

I wouldn't have given you 2 bob for Walker this time last year - He is worth a million now

Another Walker article suggesting he should be re-signed during July.

http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/artic ... -new-deal/

Kim has written a good, well researched article. Much better than the sh*t that comes out of the Herald Sun.

I like the goals / games comparision, if you factor in the fact that he played as a fwd in last years final against Sydney his goals / game ratio is:

102 games 34 goals, and this season

12 games 33 goals

Get his bloody signature onto a contract ASAP Blues!!!!!!!

What about the perfect misuse of "ironically" in the first sentence, then comparing the Walker "story" with some Magpie fairytales?

Nit picking. Fair to compare the Blues to Collingwood. They're the best, but not for long.
