To some (both inside and outside the club) it still is. That's the problem.

Good effort to break our record, but seriously though with our support base we should've cracked the 50,000 mark comfortably

Yep agreed.

I dont reckon I am being hard when I say that as we do have a massive supporter base but need to tap into it better.

Not at all. I agree with you completely.

Seriously, the players doorknocking is a great idea.

Should do that over summer to lapsed members.

So I just received an email from Juddy asking my 4yr old daughter to renew

"I've chatted to the whole team and we still can't understand why so many great Blues fans like
yourself aren't on board!"

sorry Juddy she went to Collingwood, 4th is nothing compared to a Premiership :banghead:

Was a pretty decent crowd. 43,000 against an interstate team.

I remember wondering how the @#$%&! we can get a crowd like that today, but can't people to sign as members.

I reckon there would have been about 37,000 Carlton supporters there allowing for about 4,500 Brisbane supporters and the rest neutrals. We must get a HUGE % of our members actually turning up to matches

Noticed this too.

How new is the ad with Murph, Juddy, Gibbs etc asking people to sign up? I hadn't seen it before.

Bang your head against that wall a few more times for me too. Sorry Kenny, but that's a lame excuse.

There's no way known a 4 year old kid whose parents have done their all to teach their kid which team they barrack for would change teams and go against the parent...and then there's the issue of respect.

I don't get it. Well I do. I just don't get the excuse. The issue lies with the parent and the relationship they have with the kid imo.

It has little to do with the fact Colligwood is the reigning premier otherwise there would be thousands of 4 year olds changing their allegiance every year; that's not the case. I don't know any of my friends whose kids have turned against them, and I'm talking Melbourne supporters.

Sorry Kenny I'm with Bondiblue on that one.

Its not too late - Ms Agro was being taken down the Scum path by Father-in-law when she was 4 years old - but I kept on working on her.

If she wanted to go to the football that was fine - I took her to the football no problem - but they just happened to be Carlton games.

The Scum are now but a distant memory and she has about 17 Carlton Membership tickets in her memorabilia box now.

My daughter is trying to get my Son (2.5yr old) to support Carlton.

Tonight in the car she told him he can't share her drink unless he supports Collingwood

Note: He told her NO dink (drink in kid speak)

Ps: my wife is Collingwood.

Will be interesting to see how many members try to upgrade their membership to be guaranteed Finals tickets.

The club should target the number of 3 game members and get them to upgrade.

I'm not a pushy parent, all my kids had a choice and that's either barrack for Carlton or dont eat. Yes, they are all alive and healthy, a bit feral but alive and kicking

The club is targeting 45K for this weeks clash

Quote:
This Sunday’s clash between Carlton and the 5th placed Sydney Swans in Round 13 of the AFL Premiership Season, is set to draw the largest crowd ever for a Carlton/Sydney Swans home and away game.

In the 216 games played between these two clubs, the highest home & away crowd to attend a game is 45,000 in round 2, 1934 at Princes Park.

After nearly 80 years, it is your chance be a part of history and re-write the record books.

Blues Vs Swans drew two good size crowds during finals;

1986 Qual. Final - 66,016

1945 Grand Final - 62,986 at Princes Park (I suppose mainly standing with only two stands and this seems feasible).

I'm only guessing but I am pretty sure the 1970 First Semi Final between St.Kilda -v- South Melbourne drew over 100,000 at the MCG.

Which was Bob Skilton's first and only finals game.

I never had any problem who my kids would barrack for ,my wife who is a pie supporter encouraged the kids to barrack for the blues .The reason for her madness
i would take all the kids to the footy feed them look after them and she would go to the footy with her brother and have peace and quiet .My kids are all adults now and are all members of the blues ,and I go with my 2 sons each week to watch the blues ,my daughter only goes occasionally win win situation
