The article talks about Warnock's availability - doesn't say he will be included in the team.
For mine, I would bring him back via reserves. He hasn't played at all for a few weeks and, given the clearly traumatic nature of his concussion (Vs a wk lay-off for most concussion injuries), I would want to make sure he is fully confident physically and mentally.

I think the best move would be to keep it simple: bring in Henderson for Waite. Kreuzer and Warnock for reserves.
Bower needs at least another GOOD game for Bullants. Hoops or Joseph could come in if they decide to back Russell off to get 100%.
Re Kreuzer, I don't think this would be anywhere near an 'easy' game - however bad Brisbane might be, Leuenberger & Clarke will test any ruck combo. I also think it a good idea to have him play at least a couple of consecutive great games rather than one.

Having said that, I might still be tempted to bring in Kreuzer for extra height in attack and ruck around the forward line (Hampson could settle in the back half to clog up space for Brown) if therewas a clear swap BUT, not sure who goes out for him? I think Setanta deserves to keep his place - we play better with him in the team.

Tough decisions but in such circumstances, the correct answer is: keep it simple. don't make changes unless forced by injury or bullant player smashing the door down.

Depends if Waite plays, but he seems doubtful

If no Waite, then it will be ...

Waite, Setanta OUT
Hendo, Kruez (or 206) IN

Along with Judd of course. But yes, structurally, the absence of Jamo probably throws us into disarray more than anyone.

That's a great point.

I'd rather him save those heroics for the GF or in games in the balance in the last.

Who was his blocker and feeder that got dropped?

McLean came in for Curnow for Rnd 8 & 9 and was dropped in Rnd 10.
Joseph came into the team with Ellard in Rnd 5 and Joseph was dropped for rnd 8.

Do you think it's McLean who had such a big impact for Judd?
I didn't think McLean was too flash in the Geelong and Melb games...but maybe you saw stuff I am missing: grunt work.
I must admit I did look for it, but didn't see any compelling evidence that McLean did more blocking that a Curnow generally does.

If Brock is that important, I'm sure he'd be selected, or they'll bring him in when they iron out some of his deficiencies with pace and intensity at senior level. How he's going to do that in the Ants beats me.

Bondi it is an observation of mine that Murphy - Gibbs and Judd play better games when Brock is in the side - they appear to structure up differently and get outside more - they were also doing nearly the same with Curnow but you could see he was clearly hampered by his shoulder last week . Brock knows how to set up at the stopages where just his positioning clears a path - Look at the difference Brock made to the ANTs last week - He may not be quick and gets caught with the ball a bit - but you cant have a side full of Zebras

If Kreuzer is physically able to get through an AFL match, I say just get him in there.

VFL form is one thing, AFL form is another. The sooner he's playing AFL, the more benefit he will be to the team in 2011.

Maximising his chances of being meaningful in September should be the aim - IF he is fit enough to get through games now of course.

With Laidler just a few weeks from returning, I think it's time for Jordan Russell to quickly find the form of last year.

Russell's down on his disposal average from last year and is just steady in other areas. He should be improving given his experience now.

There could be something in that SB.
I'll have a closer look. Interesting.
Got a day off today, so I'll have a look at the Geelong 1st half and the Melb game.

Couldn't the other inside players learn what Brock knows?
If its such an advantage, I'd expect them to have been drilled.

If Brock is so valuable in the stoppages, surely what comes to question is whether his lack of pace is a liability or not. The fact Curnow is favoured ahead of Brock tells me that Brock doesn't bring as much as others do, and his pace is a worry. I'm sure he'll get better as the season progresses, and his body holds up.

I'm pretty sure Curnow copped another knock to his shoulder against Port, and I think he was a bit apprehensive for the tough stuff. I hope for his sake the shoulder doesn't become his achilles like it did for Walker.

I say, put Kreuzer in as a ruck rover and I bet we see blocks like never before in the midfield.

Russell doesn't sem to be the same player as last year.
I expected further improvement from him this year.
He has to step up.

He hasn't looked 100% to me in most games. I reckon he's been carrying a niggle for most of the year. If not then yeah, he's dropped off a bit.

Missed a lot of pre season too. Also the change in our game style and the inclusion of Yaz to the backline may affect his numbers.

He is still capable of doing a job though. Did some nice things up forward last week and won us the game when put forward/onball against the Crows.
