I would rest Judd at least this week. He's shown at Weagles he can play on half a leg but a fit and firing Judd is crucial when we play the big boys. He had no pace last night at all.

He had a rest 3 weeks ago

He got injured 2 weeks ago. Whats the relevance of a break 3 weeks ago?

Just that a weeks rest doesn't mean you won't get injured the week after

Engine room really stepped it up in the third quarter, especially Robinson. Lots of good ruck work from Hampson as well. Not just palming but also protecting space which allowed the Carrots handball and then a shot inside 50 to Robinson. That was the way Carrots should be playing. Duigan, Gibbs and Russell read the Port entries well. Walker is getting the rewards for all the hard work he has put in following all the injuries, could have been easy for him to give it away.

Our forward 50 entries in the first half were abysmal; we were lucky when Port won the ball that they gave it back almost straight away. Chaplin was playing loose and we picked him on so many occasions. You can't continue to kick to 3 on 1 situations week in week out. That's why it's vital Yarran gets his hands on the ball up the field; he will sum up the situation and at least kick it to a one on one. Also why it is important that Henderson takes Setanta's spot into the team. Henderson is a smart forward who will lead up the ground and drag his opponent with him, therefore giving Waite and Walker an even chance inside 50. Armfield's spot would have to be at risk given Tuohy's superior kicking. Jarrad Waite is on track to have the most FA he has ever had in a season. Amazing that someone who has been in the system for ten years still doesn't know how to tackle legally and control his aggression. Not to mention that so often he seems to lead to the boundary line so that even if he marks it he will struggle to kick the goal.

"Resting" our best player is crazy. You see how our boys go when they start getting ahead of themselves and I just think it sends out the wrong message to the youngsters that we can afford to rest our captain because our opposition is crap. It only takes a slight easing off the pedal in this league to get your pants pulled down.

Judd as a sub - maybe - but I'd be loath to rest him at any time.

Judd did look clearly hampered yesterday and he was - by a Port Adelaide player hanging onto one of his arms everywhere it went.

It must be exhausting having to drag an extra person across the park every week.

Judd is clearly injured. When i say rest him, its to heal his foot, not to give him a weekend to cut the grass.
His running yesterday was almost Brock like.

As long as Judd is not potentially harming his long term playing future I'm happy for him to out there at 60-70% fitness.

His presence is vital to our team structure and the oppositions as well.

Agree with buzzaaaah, a lot of benefits to be gained from resting players and player rotations through the seniors. Need to keep promoting players.

Judd definitely hits the ground running after a 3 week break - refer to 5 x C. Judd 3 votes in a row last year's Brownlow.

Another 5 x 3 vote games for the remainder of this year and Bobby Skilton will have to license someone else with the "Triple Brownlow Medallist" name.

watched the replay this morning, boys really had to step up the pressure and they did. They are a very good side. Strong belief, strong work ethic. Gotta love Robbo. Maybe someone at the club should just belt him over the head with a bat every week before he steps out - whacks seem to only drive him harder!

With that video of Zac Touhy's first touch I was pretty annoyed with how Hampson used the ball. When he got the free there were 13 seconds left in the quarter, we were on a roll so surely the right thing to do was to kick the ball long into our forward line. If he did not know how much time was left then it was pretty ordinary work from our bench not to get the message out as we had just scored a goal.

I just find it hard to believe that a foot injury isn't hampered by running 7-12k during a game where you are putting ?2-3 times your body weight in force through every step, twisting and carrying an opposition player on your back.

Remember when WCE played him for a season with stuffed groins. They assured us it wouldn't make a difference if he rested. We recieved a crocked player who lost his very explosive pace probably forever.

He's a big investment. We don't him playing against Port and Brisbane injured.

The positive to come out of Touhy's bad bounce was how quick some of the boys got to him at 3q time to pat him on the back and reassure him. Shows good spirit.

Nah I disagree - he was in the clear and what better way to give a guy his first touch of the footy

Just a pity he mucked it up

My point was Hammer might not have known how much time was left.
You wouldn't be disagreeing if we were 5 points down and it was the last quarter.

the way that guy can roost a ball I would have - if it bounces back to him he would have lobbed it in the goal square

too many supporters that are one eyed an often talk out that other eye.
There are a lots of ways to look at the win in a negative way.
Dont rate Hammers game much as Brogan is finished. He should have thrashed him.

port are an average team coming off a game in Darwin. I would have been disapointed had we not run all over them in the end.

What i am saying is we have improved and the reasons why.

Judd should be rested. He is clearly hampered by his injury. Our midfield has got enough depth to cope without him against another very ordinary team such as the Lions.
And it would give Golden boy Gibbsy to have a go in the guts.

Of course my mate cazzeman will come on here and say that the club knows more than me.
or will come up with another sensational picture to show off his infotech skills.

Just balancing the view on this site with great pleasure

Judd needs a rest. With our easy draw for now perfect time to rest the champ.
