Over to the coaching staff to work with Jeffy on his left foot. Those dinky kicks on the outside of his right foot look great when they come off....terrible when they don't.

Yarran. Can't believe I forgot to mention in my first post

All class and getting better and better. Clubs will try and expose him defensively however prepared to risk that (with our much improved back 6 and team defence) against what magic he provides.

Great second half by the blues. Port gave it everything and we didn't falter. Curnow was a different player to that preinjury. He played like walks use to after his many shoulder recos. I hope they have not brought him back to soon. I think he is a gun, but he just looked very tentative out there today. Hopefully he gained confidence from today.

Pros

We're winning the games we should win. Massive. Even for a sunday.
Walker. Love it.
Thornton. Yep not his biggest fan but he's starting to move the ball at 45 degree angles rather than sideways. Isoundlikejimmae.

Cons
Chad Cornes didn't play.

Pros, we are winning on a regular basis. No cons till we start losing. Not fair on a winning club. take every victory, pretty or ugly. 4 points is 4 points.

But not as god as Pendlebury because he hasn't won a Norm Smith Medal. (That was one reason a Collingwood supporter gave for Pendlebury being a retrospective pick 1 in 2005)

If you watch the game again you'll find he got better as the game went on....his last qtr was very good...what a great pickup this guy has been....

That is a Pro. The fact that Ratts identified it, gave the instruciton and the players implemented it.

Well I only saw the second half so I thought we were absolutely brilliant!!

From what I saw...

Robbo's body work, courage and.. dare I say it... poise... were first class. Put all that into an animal and it's a pretty frightening package for opposition clubs.

AW tremendous, and obviously a rare four quarter performance for one of our boys today

Murph outstanding. Who cares what others think about who should be 1,2,3 or whatever. I wouldn't trade Murph for anyone in that draft, I'm sure Collingwood fans would say the same about their boys. Everyone's happy, let's just move on.

For mine it was hard to get a read on Hammer. By that stage Brogan may as well have been in a wheelchair.

Really happy that Judd wasn't prominent. Certainly did enough though.

Scotland is smahing it this year. So happy for him, T-Bird and the other 'older' boys to finally be regular winners.

Betts looked lively, great burst through the pack for AW's 6th.

Hope Jamo and Waite are right to go next week. Jamo is probably the one we can't afford to be without. No other obvious match up for Brown.

Well done. We are building up a very impressive interstate record.

Pros

Walker becoming a deadly kick for goal and our focal point.
Yarren - mcloud who? Seriously yaz is on the verge. Needs to improve his defensive side.
Scotland our third best player this season imo.
Murphy - the blues best player this season and will give the brownlow a shake
Robbo - becoming very effective. Love his hardness at the footy.

Cons

Scoring efficiency. If they were that wasteful and lost going forward against a team like collingwood in the first half it would have been game over.
We desperately need a chf - hendo come on down.
Waite - constantly loses his feet at contests, or gives away silly free kicks. He is a much better footballer than he has shown so far this season. When are we going to start seeing it?

At half time I had that sinking feeling and it was a real credit that we came out really hard. Carrots improved his disposal from last week and I think in general this season his delivery has been streets ahead of previous years. He must have worked very hard and I admire him for this.

We are running games out this year and not slowing up on sides when the game is won.

The only con I can see from a game like that is injuries. I hope we come through unscathed as Jamo will be needed on Brown and someone has to handle Clark who is in some very nice form.

pros

walker, robbo, yarran, murph and did it without judd doing much. another pro was that for the 2nd week in a row we conceded less and 50 points and are now 3rd best in the league for points against. were only an average of 5 points per game behind the benchmark Collingwood.

cons

first half and injuries to jamo and waite
brain explosions by many when going inside 50

Cannot believe no one has mentioned Gibbs or Duigan.

Those two hardly put a foot wrong. Anchored our defense with Jamo struggling on that sprained ankle.

The improvement in our 21-24 year olds has been phenomenal this year. Robbo, Gibbs, murph, walks, garlett, Ellard, army. Plus add in Duigan, Curnow, Laidler etc and things are looking top4 this year.

Gibbs was a rock and flint hard whilst we were under the pump in the first three quarters. :smoking:

Pros:
Good, percentage boosting result. We've climbed about 10% in 2 weeks.
Finished the game well.
Hammer belted Brogan. Dominated him in ruck duels, and gave him a physical working over as well.
Robbo, Carrazzo, Murph and Scotland.
Walker up forward.
Duigan and Yarran down back.
Trialing Russell at CHF once Waitey went off.

Cons:
Butchered the ball in the forward half. Special mentions to Waite, Garlett and Setanta.
The decision to play Tuohy as the sub. I would have thought the worst possibly option for a first-gamer. Hope he gets a decent run next week.
Curnow couldn't get near it for the first 3 quarters.
Still bemused as to the decision against Russell in the marking contest early in the game which led to Port's 2nd goal.
Someone from FOX Footy that put up the importance of 'Defensive Axe' before the game! :banghead:

Pros

3/3 interstate this year.

Only travel one more time (H&A)........in Aug........

We've positioned ourselves beautifully. The platform is set, time to deliver and shake this comp up!
