One of these Ruckmen will be traded ... most likely Hampson ... Unfortunately someone will offer him an opportunity that he can't get at Carlton.

Would GWS be interested. If so, what sort of compensation would we get?

Thats the thing I think we will either lose Waker or Hammer to them ... at this point would rather lose Hammer.

Anyone know if we are talking to Walker about his contract yet?

No one was interested last year but I am sure after his year so far that has changed.

Walker is playing consistent footy now with a injury free run. Walker would now be happy at Carlton and would want to stay.

You obviously havent looked at the injury toll of the ruckmen in the AFL at the moment - Ruckman are flat out playing 15 games in a season - There is no way know any of the rucks will be traded

I hope Curnow comes straight back into the seniors.

Am I the only one that is worried about Houla coming back representing the old unaccountable Carlton. ? I know he is skillful and all that, but he is not exactly a tough player.

I thought Houla did a really good job last year playing the defensive forward role - that required him to be accountable

Its irrelevant whether or not we want to trade Hampson ... I agree that we need him. His contract however ends this year and other clubs are always looking for ruckmen of his height and potential. GWS for example would have plenty of money to throw at a second tier ruckman with potential. If someone else is willing to give him an opportunity and more money then unfortunately I think he will walk.

He'll be right - we need to keep him as the injuries to ruckmen are starting to show (having a list of ruckmen like, Kroooze, Warnock, Hammer, and Sentanta as a back up will have some clubs throwing picks and players at us in the future)

Just give Hammer a pair of gloves and see if that helps....... :smoking:

I thought we were going to discuss the Port match...didn't realise this was the "Lets all bag the playing list" thread.

My bad...

Unless he improves a lot, he won't be getting any Jacobs/Mumford type offers.

Some players have to accept they are second string ruckmen. Name me a team where he would be first ruck.

Hawthorn/Richmond

They have Renouf, Bailey and Hale as ruckmen. Roughhead has been starring playing as ruck.
Would they really offer Hampson $400k/year.

Lets get back to reality.

I'd leave Russell at home to rest.

OUT: Russell, Laidler
IN: Warnock, Curnow

Yarran - Jamo - Duigan
Armfield - Thornton - Gibbs
Simmo - Judd - Scotland
Betts - Waite - Walker
Garlett - O'Hailpin - Robbo
Warnock - Murphy - Carrazzo

McLean - Hampson - Ellard
sub: Curnow

Warnock and Curnow can play half a game each.
