For Russell, hopefully no one as he should come up.

For Laidler, depends on match ups.

You have to question why he was played. Ratten said in an interview that JR had tightness in his hammy before the game.

Ratten said it could be 3-4, but he's having scans tomorrow.

If Laidler & Russell are definite outs, then i'd like to see Watson come back in and Armfield start. We'll find a sub somewhere.

... and Hampson out for Warnock.

Jeremy Laidler came off with a knee injury in the third quarter, while Nick Duigan did not play the last 15 minutes of the game after coming off with a slight leg injury.

Hopefully Duigan is ok for next week...

Casboult being taken off LTI means that Zac Touhy is back on the rookie list.

There is no good time for an injury, obviously, but these injuries have come at a "good time" given we have Port and Brisbane coming up. Good opportunity to test out guys like Watson and the like in games we should be able to comfortably win.

Surely we are not that dumb that they wouldnt have played him going into the game with tighteness in his hammies

Watson is so far from AFL I'd consider recalling Livingstone first.

Houlihan will take one spot.

Henderson would be my tip for the other.

Davies picked up his form last game, so I'd expect he will be close with another good performance this week.

Would love To see McInness given a taste.

Personally I could see hendo coming in for laidler altho that removes a bit of mobility from our defence. For Russell, I think they will seriously consider a way of getting touhy in the team if possible. McCarthy is really not ready, he wil get snapped in half. I don't think houla is ready yet and I also have a real concern houlas lack of pressure abilities will hurt our team, but time will tell on that one. Personally, I would love to see keefe have a go, he is strong enough to play afl, his disposal is good, only prob for him is he is a rookie as well.

Heaps of guys at every club will go into games with something NQR (including Judd last night, and that worked out ok). You'd struggle to field a team otherwise. Often it comes off, sometimes it doesn't. This time it didn't.

If Laidler and Russell are missing, that's a fair bit of drive gone from the back. And if Duigan missed, we'd be really thin down there.

I wonder if Houlihan could take Walker's spot up forward, and tex goes back? Ideally you'd keep walker in the front, but back-half drive is super critical. Pity Zac isn't eligible... you'd think this block of games would be a perfect introduction for him. Bower would be weeks away, you'd think.

I'd prefer not, with Walker to remain up forward. Can't we promote another rookie around this time due to nil veterans (rnd 11 last year I think), though may be later this year with the extra rounds.....?
As you say, it'd be perfect for Zac to get a run now.

Pity K.Lucas is not fit & firing as HBF would have been his.
Worst case scenario with Russell, Laidler, Duigan out we could line up like this.

Armfield - Jamison - Yarran
Gibbs - Thornton - Scotland or Carrazzo can play back too **Tuohy or McInnes preferred to debut
or Joseph in to BP and Yarran to HBF depending on Port's fwd line-up.
