cats players are good enough not to need any extra motivation to win a game of football. bob's passing wont make a diff once they hit the ground.

I think they're ripe for the beating. We need to keep our heads and hit them hard and fast. They'll have 3 more days of tributes, press, speeches etc etc so it's a great opportunity to catch them while they're distracted.

They have so many great players, its a nightmare thinking about match ups.

Selwood, Chappy, Johnson, Scarlett, Enright, Stokes, Cory and Ottens. An incredible package of players.

Judd, Murphy, Waite, Jamison, Simpson, Gibbs, Yarran and Garlett for us. As good?

Saw the article about Chappy and how they were going to treat Ablett the week after our game and thought these buggers are not even thinking of us

It all changes now- Geelong will be well and truely fired up for this one now

..that article's in reference to a direct question from 'on the couch'.. ..not a case of them looking fwd a week.. ..no real need to special attention either, the cats will monster the suns and Ablett will be well held..

Must say that I am suprised Stokes made your list, he is an average player at best in my eyes. Kelly is a player who I really rate at Geelong and one who flies under the radar. I'd be a lot more confident if this game was at the 'G' and I think the more confined spaces of Etihad will suit the Geelong backline. Can't see us kicking a winning score at this venue but I am hoping I am very wrong.

Good call on Kelly. Very good player but I really rate Stokes. He is such a hard worker and has the skills and pace to match. It wont be long till young Duncan becomes elite as well. A new coach for the Cats was the best thing that could have happened to them.

Geelong's defense is the best in AFL at the moment but Garlett and Betts are the two that could potentially cause havoc. I would like to see those 2 given as much space as possible up forward which means we need to move the ball quick at all times and let those two run on and kick goals.

You are dead right Swanny, I didn't realise either that Carlton had so many players the Cats have to worry about.

Geelong's Chapman said last night on OTC that he watched the Blues vs the Aints and the Blues were very very good. They copped heaps and dished it out too. He stated that Carlton is definetely a Top 4 team this year. So obviously the HS article didn't focus on the CFC stuff.

I know the Cats have great players and they deserve to be known as great because of their achievements.
I reckon they will pass the baton to the Blueboys and the whole world will be talking about the great players we have on our list.

I'm expecting a big one from Gibbs, and I'm keen to see what Laidler does against his old team.

I'm really hoping Henderson comes in and plays CHB. We could do with the extra cms in the KPD role, probably against the out of form Mooney. That'll do me.

Some posters suggest he isn't ready. Why not? Because of his game against the Bumbers in round 4? Because he didn't star in the 2's 2,3 & 4 weeks ago? He might not have been BOG against Frankston but it was shit weather , shit ground in a depleted team, but he had a crack, and showed some good signs from all reports.

There's no way known he hasn't gained more fitness and confidence since the embarassment of round 4 which will be 5 weeks ago come this Friday. I blame the MC not Hendo for not realising he wasn't ready after an extended period out recovering from his pre xmas hip operation...and that was almost 5 months ago.

I will not cry if he isn't selected and we win.

Laidler will be back and no doubt he'll be taking TBirds spot.
Curnow is out, and no doubt McLean will be taking his spot.

I wouldn't mind Hendo taking Joseph's spot....and if that didn't happen....maybe we get to see Tuohy before the LTI returns.

I'll be on a flight to Saudi on Friday night, so I'm hoping to catch the game at the airport....I just hope we win!!!!!
I know we can. We all do.

Good call, Woofa!
Stokes is an average player who i wouldn't put much time into. Rather see them plan for a bloke named BARTEL who missed that above list..... not sure how!

The biggest key to all of this is making Scarlett accountable. If he is allowed to just wander around and do his own thing, he will kill us. I'm thinking either Robbo on him ala Fletcher last year or maybe even Gibbs who can definitely hurt him if Scarlett tries to zone off. But first and foremost, whoever it is, absolutely must stop him from playing loose.

They are still a great side and I reckon people wrote them off far too quickly, myself included. But we do have the stocks to push them all the way, and maybe even able to run over the top of them.

oh and some straight goal kicking might help the cause a little. Must take our chances this week. No use outplaying them everywhere but not putting it on the board

Come on blue boys!!

Agreed. Stop him and you go a long way. Ottens has been immense in ruck too, so Robbie needs a massive game.

..it doesn't matter who plays on scarlett, thats not how you make him accountable.. ..what you need to do is have the fwds lead away from eachother, and the kick I50 need to be drilled low to leading targets.. ..high bombs are no good unless kicked over the heads of geelong defenders for our quicker fwds to run onto..

Make a sentence with the words "fev", "biggest", and "dick"; and that was the best you could come up with???
