I agree. However he is the next best running/onballer in waiting. I wanted Lucas to play a blinder last week for the Ants to put his hand up but he didnt.

Would prefer a running player who can help with the rotations so if it were me i wouldnt bring in another tall. No Need for us go tall.

Maybe Zac could come in for Curnow but he could already be coming in for AJ or Armfield.

I only put Brock in because the way Ratten was talking that is what will happen.

Personally I wouldnt pick him.

My changes would be:

In: Touhy, Laidler
Out: Curnow, AJ

B: Armfield Jamison Russell
Gibbs
HB: Yarran Laidler Duigan

C: Simpson Ellard Scotland
Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Thornton Walker
F: Betts Waite

Int: Setanta Robinson Carrazzo Touhy

Yes, Bobby Davis has passed away. Makes this one tougher. Having said that, the Cats haven’t exactly been renowned over time for delivering when they really need to or are expected to.

He should be able to release Judd, and Robbo can do the rest inside. Onus is on Russell, Ellard and the like to pick up the slack entering the 50.

And then there was one. Lou.

Bob, Jack Dyer and Lou had a great, funnny, uncomplicated chatshow on TV years ago. No bands, no gimmicks to speak of, just three mates and legends talking about the footy. Life was simple back then and the three of them were much loved by everybody.

The footy show will no doubt have a great tribute to Bob and he deserves one. He was idolized by Sam Newman, whom Bob coached in the 1963 flag team. It would almost be worth watching the footy show on Thursday just to watch Sam being serious.

This won't make the game any easier for us on Friday. If I were Scott, I'd have Sam in the rooms before the game talking about Bob and trying to make them understand why they are wearing black armbands. We will have to go at them hard and early because they will be pumped to beat us first and foremost and trying to win it for the memory of the great Geelong Flyer himself.

I hope the Carlton supporters get a chance to show their appreciation for one of the legends of footy and one of the true pioneers of footy in the media who never had a bad word to say about anybody.

Although it's our home game, I'm sure the club will organise some sort of tribute for the game.

Gee Bob couldn't you have held on until Saturday?

Sad though, true club legend.

Must have been gut wrenching for Bob Davis to present the Premiership Medallions to our players in 1995 - but he did it with grace, good humour and aplomb.

He is one of the greats and connections of this game that we of the "World of Sport/League Teams" generation grew up with and will be missed.

Well said

Was thinking the same thing myself. It couldn't have been easy for him, but he was a pro. I particularly remember him and Harry having a laugh up there.

Saw the article about Chappy and how they were going to treat Ablett the week after our game and thought these buggers are not even thinking of us

It all changes now- Geelong will be well and truely fired up for this one now

I don't think the passing of Bob Davis (RIP) will have any kind of effect on a bunch of 20-somethings. I'm sure they'll be given the talk, but I don't think it'll change much of anything.

If they beat us, it'll be because they're better than us.

But if we're looking for excuses, I reckon the Curse of the Bye is a better one. That thing's deadly.

Everyone keeps forgetting Jude Bolton, this bloke is playing very well and has been superb so far this season. Its about winning the contested ball, if we dont beat them there we are no chance of winning. And my honest feeling is we wont

Tigers are paying $3.30.... needless to say im on for some insurance

It's ominous for the Cats now.

In regards to the impact of Bob, I'd say any player over the age of 22-23 would know Bob well enough to mourn him. They'll be fired up.

So it's not money for jam, it's jam from the change you've scrapped off your lack-lustre efforts. Carlton by 6 goals.

Haha straight onto Buzz, glad you saw where I was going with that.
