Quote:
DANE Swan and Scott Pendlebury are the most dynamic midfielders in the competition.

Most teams would, in a heartbeat, grab the opportunity to trade any two of their on-ballers for these superstars.

The Richmond Football Club could possibly be the exception - along with Geelong which would be pretty content with Joel Selwood and Jimmy Bartel. The Tigers hold a pair, in Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin, that you feel would give them the confidence to match any sized bet.

No mention of Carlton and Judd/Murphy in the article. They must be shit. :screwy:

That article makes my blood boil.

Fancy giving this bogan an opportunity to have someone write his thoughts. :screwy:
Who really cares what Lyon is, and what's his claim to fame anyway? Is he a Brownlow medallist? Premeiership player?
Ex Capt who couldn't lead his rabble of a team to glory. Judd barracked for Melbourne as a kid, and could have gone there, but what do Melbourne and Lyon represent to the football world since their last flag in the early 60's? Worse than Richmond. And Lyon was their leader.

What makes me boil, is that many readers who don't really know the game will read this bullshit and might believe it.
As far as I'm concerned it is biased and even defamatory.

Have a look at last weekends HS in hardcopy and read the Roos article. Then reflect at this piece of shite Lyon has written.
Even Roos, who is a harsh critis, but matter of fact, praised the ability and strength of Judd as the clearance king. Isn't that what midfielders are praised for? Now have a look at Murphy's clearance stats. Lyon has missed something and it's really obvious.

I reckon Lyon's is dumb. Seriously. I know he isn't an intellect nor an academic, so why try to be?

If you don't mention Judd and Murphy when analysing the best midfielders in the AFL then you are a "tool". This is especially so given the whole football community (barring the Kyneton bumpkin, Lyon) has come to the realisation that Judd is still the best midfielder in the game.

I watched Pendlebury and Swan last night, and they didn't come close to what Judd has done this year, and this article has been published with those facts as the backdrop to the 2011 AFL season.

Hopeless joke.

I hope the whole Carlton Community takes pot shots at him as we have with the HS and Robbo and Caro and others because over time we will break them and the tables will turn...just as they have with the HS and Robbo...and by the way...haven't heard much from the flower in the Australian Fatprick. :fight:

I get it he sits on the desk next to Carline Wilson at the Age...another disrespected weak journo who lowers the status of their paper.

Yes. A biiiig tool.

Actually..he loves Juddy..and has in the past fawned over him, gushed, and worshipped him.
I guess his slant in this article is pairs.
and maybe..he doesn't put Murph up there as equal to the other pairs.

The great thing is....
how fantastic it will be to just quietly go about our business..and stick it right him through on field actions.
By september...come september...
let's see what he writes.

I can't wait to add our Ruck Rover Kreuzer to the mix.

Then there will be the Best C-RR-R Combo category someone with some intelligence can write about.

I am seething over this, but I guess you're right...it's good to be flyiny under the radar.

GO BLUEBAGGERS

Great article for us, IMO.

Let him pump up Cotchin and Martin's tyres. Let them believe they're the best midfield combo. Let Murphy and Judd (and co.) just go about their business.

Personally, given we're in hard contract negs with Murph, I'd rather read articles like today's than a puff-piece on Murphy as the best young mid in the game.

Who cares what Lyon writes. Tries to be like maguire on TFS - that's enough for me.

Great article and happy for our players to not be pumped up. Hopefully GWS are reading it and believe it.

I say sorry to both K towns...especially the one that had to live with Lyon for the first 16 years of his life.

I say the fruit from both K towns is fantastic, it's just the rotten stuff that comes out of there is ...well....rotten (see Lyon)

No worries. Forgot to mention though... it doesn't mean that Lyon isn't an overrated knob.
