Just doesn't make sense to me. Why do we need one more key defender than we have had the past few weeks? I am a Hendo fan but his form has been extremely poor and isn't close to warranting a spot.

By the way the defense that is named looks very good to me!

I agree with this. I'm all for giving youth every chance, but surely performance has to be the first
criteria for selection, (and I'm not really a Thorton fan).

THe old Kouta trick. Bring him at CHB to find form. Carey, Grant and Mooney have all given it a go too.

They probably wont do it but it is not that bad an idea. I am sure the coaches are not trying lose the game.

If it's slow recovery from surgery or lack of tank for Hendo then playing at CHB won't help much.

Isnt there a question mark on White? If there is then naming Watson and Henda on the ext bench is for insurance.

I too like the backline as named though.

I'd be amazed if Hendo comes in.

I think because it has been suggested that their are injury clouds over both White and Laidler. If those two guys are right, there will only be one change, ie Yarran in, probably AJ or Army out. We need to name 25, and from that 25 we need coverage in case of injuries/illness etc.

I was in Brisbane for easter and watched Saints v Lions a couple of weeks ago.

Kosi coming in is a massive plus for us based on that night

..in my opinion, the huge reason why Hendo is so out of form is that he isn't up to full fitness.. ..he's not even in good VFL form, he hasn't gained ground since he was intro'd into the senior side vs the bombres.. ..i too am a big Hendo fan, but he's just not ready.. ..would play Thorton before Hendo [and i'd rather Thornton be used fwd if intro'd, but still currently a better defensive option that Hendo]..

..i understand and appreciate the reasons mentioned why he'd be a good option, but he's not fit enough/ready for seniors.. ..so the reasons made won't be produced on field in seniors.. ..hell, they're not even being produced in the ressies..

..Yarran for AJ seems sound, ditto crazy Mitch as sub..

Yeah it does.
Hendo, although currently unfit, is in our best 22 (18 actually). Thornton isn't. We would need even more KPP and MSPP injuries than we already have for him to play for Carlton again, especially for him to play in defense.

I agree that if fit Hendo is in our best 22 but at the moment he isn't fit and isn't playing well so he shouldnt play. His game against Essendon* showed that and his form since has been poor.

Fitness and form must be taken into account and I don't think Hendo's got either at the moment.

If White doesn't come up, would like Watto to come in. Give him a run.
