Another slightly inappropriate statement by Kernahan, but I literally laughed out loud when I saw the pic and caption. Seriously - is the online editor trying to get fired?

Journalism at its finest. Even tops the guy in The Age a few weeks back who referred to Jordan Russell as Jordan Bannister.

Should have sent JA over instead. Would have fooled everyone.

Bad photo - but we would be threatening top 2 now with JK- should have sent Bower

at the time of the trade Bower had played some good footy - there were all these rumours that he was homesick and wanted to go and West coast were interested

Fev still screwing us over -

Kenny misses JK as well. Kenny's heart breaks too.

Just have to console myself with the best player in the comp ...

And Army should come back in this week too. And not before time.

How's that little midfielder going they picked up with pick 3????

And that skinny, skinny kid who went at 20 .... what's he doing now?

The Weagles are hurting more than us, folks ...

Wonder how many times this will come up during the year? :smoking:

Should have sent Fev. He'd fit right in with their 'culture', and cult of the larrikin bad boy.

Hey sticks we are all missing JK, without Fev trying to dominate the fwd line these days and pushing JK further away from goals he would be an absolute star for us and would definitely be a top 4 contender.

BUT - the club had to get Judd and we had to sacrifice JK for him - the club made the right decision.

If Sticks believed that we didn't tear the Eagles a new one with that trade he wouldn't have said what he did in that article.

It really is a rubbish publication and how they dominate the print media bewilders me constantly.

Love Juddy & Army, miss JK. Common theme I would've thought.

Quote:
As it turns out, even the worst-behaved club in the AFL was smart enough to turn up its nose at problem child Fevola.

They told Carlton they weren't interested, and two years later Fevola was swapped for Lachie Henderson and a draft pick.

Didn't know we offered Fev...

..missin' Mr Kennedy as well.. .... ..provided his body held up [looks more likely now than it did back then] he was always gonna be a good old fashioned hard working CHF.. ..great kid, and loyal as well.. .... ..at the time i would have preferred usin' Bower in the trade, but not sure how much the talk of either kennedy or bower was true.. ..and times change.. ..back then kennedy looked a bit fragile and bower looked likely as our future CHB.. ..now, with Fev gone, Kennedy blossoming, Bower not looking like our answer for CHB.. ..it all looks out of whack.. ..but ultimately to get something great [Judd], and a sweetener that's come good [Army], i guess you've just gotta trade genuine quality [kennedy & 3]..

Between the Judd and Fevola trades:

Us: 145 games, 72 goals (Judd, Lucas, Henderson, Armfield)
Them: 110 games, 146 goals (Fevola, Kennedy, Masten, Notte, Bartlett)

Also remember the late news on Channel 10 (out of Sydney) on the night that EJ Whitten died - showing a nice picture of Jack Dyer...!!

I actually heard the interview with Sticks it was pre-game last Saturday and to the defence of Sticks it was like he said we shouldn't have traded Judd. He was asked a question about JK and his response it would be nice to have him in the same side but was it was a tough decision to get rid of a quality player like him but you would only do it for Judd.

Also how did you know the club didn't offer Bower? Maybe we did and the Weagles only wanted to trade for JK.

It was a once in a generation trade for our club to have a player of Judd wanting to come to our club and I believe the club had to give up something good but its a win for us to have the Juddster.

We all miss JK but boy do we love Juddy.
