Now that Andrew has taking a MOTY contender, is there a chance he'll actually stop trying now?

4 points and very little else
Murph great (light years ahead of Bryce)
Welcome back Ellard
Jamo refinding form

Hampson = liability
Betts = Bullants for a month
Gibbs = the most overrated player at Carlton this decade at least
Forward line structure = a series of random occurrences
Tackling = pissweak
1 percenters = does anyone know how to shepherd any more
footpassing = dumb
handballing = a tolerance of +/- 2 metres from target
defenders = get sucked up the ground easily
kicking backwards = mids too lazy to gut run and make space

Swans by 4 goals next week

Anyone who blames Ratten for tonights effort is a tool.

It was the same players and the same game plan after 1/4 time when it should have been about 7gls to 1gl except for poor kicking. After that all the problems were player related not Coach related.

Hanging it on the players but the Coach was not the problem tonight.

Very happy with the win. The crows are a LOT better than they have shown at the start of this year.

Last couple of years we lost most of the close games we were involved in - a goal this year was to win (more of) the close games. Based on the last couple of weeks, I think we are starting to do that.

Imo, we look as if we are a couple goals better than last year (which was a couple goals better than 09) - If we continue to improve by a couple of goals each year, we'll be serious challengers next year

i gave up, and now call him Ryu. For anyone that played Street Fighter 2, they will know why!!

Yarran being subbed off didnt help in the Third... Curnow getting better also. We ground it out but did it the hard way. First qtr we looked up and about, still never punished them on the scoreboard enough. Best game Ive seen Walker play in a very long time. Simmo..great. Judd great as usual. Robbo playing much smarter Footy this year than last. Duigan improving.. Seriously, Gibbsy needs to be dropped..he needs a few games in the Bullants.

A win is a win, these are the games that make the difference between a home final or interstate, so often in the last couple of years we'd cough up that result & walk away livered as supporters, but to the boys credit they dug deep & saluted!

I must admit guys, I really hate going into a game the hot favourite, I just find our guys can't handle that sort of expectation all that well yet, whereas next week we'll go in as outsiders, swans a week off & the pressure will all be on them & I know our boys will turn up & ready to go from the first bounce!!!

I reckon our boy Gibber might have been carrying a flu because that was the worst performance I'd ever seen of him, so I'll cut him some slack!

Watching tonight really showed how important team selection is. It seems strange but I think we really need Thornton.
Gibbs really doesn't look interested, interesting times ahead.

You could just tell at that point it was going to be a close finish.

From that point on we just couldnt convert. It must drive Ratts crazy.

I don't blame the coach as I have said but he some things to answer for.

Why persist with Betts?? It is costing us big time. Because Garlett had a downer, we were really behind the 8 ball.
Our forward line looked good in the first, mobile, quick with good leading. After Craig started the Uber flood, we looked terrible. Its not the 1st time a coach has done it to us and after tonight it won't be the last. We didn't cope with it at all well. is its a coaching issue or a playing issue, probably a bit of both.

If we kicked straight, these would have all been academic arguments. But we need to work on combating the flood. I think we'll get a chance next week.

Id rather Hendo or Irish ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, even if theyre in average 2nds form

This win just paper's over the cracks. Adelaide isn't a top 8 side. They are ravaged by injury and we just win. Full credit to the coaching staff for the improvement in tackling this year but it is as if all our players are coached to be midfielders.

- Warnock and Hampson are not coached on the basics of marking
- Waite plays too high. Opposition coaches will be wrapped to see him taking marks 60 meters out
- Goal kicking problem is as much a function of an inadequate forward structure as poor goal kicking technique (which is a coaching responsibility anyway).
- We persist with players that may be triers and good trainers but are not the future. If white is better than watson I will go he. If Joseph or ellard, as well as he played today, than lucas, I would like to someone in the know to point out why.
- Surely you would risk another KPP as Sub over Joseph.
- I watch Gibbs & I can not see the impact the coaching staff has had on his game. He can not carry the ball and isn't hard enough.

let's hope. (even though I reckon he'll try even more now that he's pulled one off)
i just hope Waitey doesnt see it as a challenge to him to do one better (which I reckon he will)

Something is not right!
To dominate the stats and yet only win through the will of the players is a massive concern
Good news is we found a way to win
Bad news is we are still exposed by well drilled teams time and again because our game plan does not stack up when the pressure is on
I must admit my patience is now wearing thin, that our team is not well drilled enough
We do not run hard enough for each other, Adelaide really showed us up
Gibbs was massively disappointing, too busy minding space and rarely attacking the man.
Our forward entries are pretty poor, we turn the ball over too often and to my mind the game plan is to blame

We will not beat Sydney next week, and we will nor win a premiership with ratts as coach.

Crows worked us out at quarter time and put numbers back and got us on the rebound with their superior KPF's.

We didn't really have an answer other than to scrap it out with some opportunism and got over the line in the end and got the 4 points.

Juddy was great but a few of his disposals were shocking.

Walks provided some good moments and I thought Duigan was again good.

JR kicked a great goal but boy is he struggling and poor Laidler was given a tough role.

Jamo's got strength in his shoulders now and he's so much better for it.

They troubled the pies last year with that uber flood.

Kreuzer coming back in the side will help a lot - Hammer is OK in the ruck but is a liability up forward.

I thought Carazzo didn't offer much tonight - time to give Brock a go.

Gibbs needs to lift.
