Each to their own I guess...

My interest in AFL begins and ends with Carlton.

That's not to say I don't have interest in the game itself but if there ever is a time when the mighty Blues cease to exist, then the game can go to hell.

If you give up on your team you're a squib.

Nice article squib.

Yes each to their own as it's really only a case of how highly Carlton is prioritized in each of our own lives.

Jabba will have this bloke on the AFL payroll inside a month. Perfect example of the kind of supporter he wants to attract. Football is a business now.

Merchandise sales would drop.

That is, of course, unless new slogans such as 'I love the Game' or 'Football is the winner' or 'Who Cares Who Wins' catch on and start to adorn our flags and polos.

He makes some good observations about Melbournians.

He's also clearly not well.

I understand exactly what he's saying. I find myself really enjoying good games of footy whether Carlton are playing in them or not. An increased love for the game. But this increased love of the game hasn't seen me turn away from Carlton, but rather yearn for us to be the team who is continually playing in those spectacular games. I am more desperate now than ever to see Carlton achieve the pinnacle of the sport. It's been too long! I also strongly believe that in order to attract the support of the types of supporters who are more interested in a spectacle than in club loyalty, it is critical that Carlton become an interesting team to watch, an exciting team.

He's really missing out on something.

There's no better feeling than a hard fought Carlton victory.

Shamefully a win can be even better still when coming after an agonizing loss.

The last couple of years have been blissful when compared to the maelstrom of agony that was 2002-2007.

That's the roller-coaster ride.

Perhaps he should HTFU.

That's how I was in the 90s. These days the only games I watch from start to finish are carlton games
