We're rucking against Sauce, and Warnock was a bit sore last week. Would be stupid to go in with only 1 genuine ruckman.

This makes me think that Warnock will spend a lot more time fwd this week, Hammer left to do more work against a modest Crows ruck division (sorry Sammy  ).

Really think that Hammer thrives on the greater workload, his "best" game for us v Cats in Visy praccy when Knockers was resting. Here's your chance, Hammer!

Otherwise, relying on Waite, Hammer and Walker (hopeless v Crows in praccy @ Visy) for goals is very very high risk, especially with MC leaving T-Bird and Hendo in the magoos.

Henderson was non-competitive. i got no problem with him going and Hampson staying. if Kreuzer is fit, hampson is a goner.

Not much point playing betts as the sub. You either give the guy another chance or you don't. I would have preferred Lucas myself but its not my call.

Joseph? Is he replacing Hendo in the fwd line?

I tipped it

My thoughts were he would be a good as a defensive forward instead of Betts. Maybe Betts will be the SUB?

Some around here did back you up re AJ

Hampson at FF aint gonna fix our Fwd line structure we have lacked. Would rather Walks or even Gibbs play out of FF than Hammer.

Jacobs will be playin for hisife to prove he should of been preferred over the two we kept. Warnock needs to really put in a big one.

Hammer will be out next week. Setants will be in barring an absolute nightmare of a game in the ants. Would of been tough bringing him in after the one game.

Jacobs left us, we wanted to keep him. He will only prove that we were right.

I didn't realise AJ's VFL form was that good. Nice to see him back.

Ellard !!!! Yeah !!!!

Good call on Bower - make him earn his spot. Neither White, Laidler or Duigan
deserved to be dropped. Same with McClean.

Walker to start on the field please.

Be interesting if Irish has another good one in the twos. Are you listening Mr Hampson?
Your time is NOW.

The outs are understandable, but too few in my book. The ins are just ok.

Points:

- What's wrong with Armfield? Has done nothing wrong all pre-season and has been victimised for what exactly... not smashing packs and taking names? He's a small, he'll harass and get to places on the field to open up attacking runs. He can kick the ball better than Jospeh, that's for sure.

- There is no way we're playing Joseph at either end of the ground; watching him kick at goal is like watching a blind and deaf man try to fire a cannon.

- Ellard and Carrazzo seem to be the defensive forward candidate, but Johncock will out run them 7 or 8 times out of 10.

- Big opportunity for Hampson, especially with Hendo not smashing into him every second contest. That said, needs to make proper leads to burn his opponent off.

- Walker deserves this chance after doing all the right things coming off the sub bench last week

- Betts is surely on his last legs before a spell. Needs to find his afterburners at the packs.

- Russell needs to stay down and stop following Duigan's example as he is effectively our second choice small in defence at the moment.

- All three emergencies are unlucky.

Thinking more about it:

White to T. Walker (we lose that one)
Jamison to Tippett (we could well lose this one)
Laidler to R. Henderson (much more comfortable with this)
Ellard to Symes
Carrazzo to Johncock
Duigan to Douglas
Yarran to Jaensch
Russell to Knights

I'd completely forgotten about Andy Otten playing midfield. Expect Gibbs to run with him at some, if not most stages. Carrazzo will also bob up and take him or Dangerfield. Walker may just well be in the mix given our lack of interest in selecting Lucas and Armfield.

Will be really interested to watch the VFL next weekend to see why exactly some of the emergencies are still emergencies.

I suspect that may have been the thinking behind Joseph's inclusion, but Armfield would have been just as good a selection, or so you would think.

Just judging on Bullants reports along with my impression of both players, I don't see anything Joseph offers which Armfield doesn't. Seems strange to me.

Happy enough with Ellard, Ratts has clearly changed whatever midfield structure which was holding him back in recent weeks from introducing him alongside Curnow.

Looking in from the outside (key words there ... ), would have thought the three emergencies were ahead of MC love-child Joseph, who adds some G&D to the side.

Though Bower is a tall, of course. But he will be part of our best 22.

Hopefully it proves to be indicitive of where we are at in terms of depth.

Pleasing to see that McLean is being made to earn his place as well.

All eyes on Eddie. Hope the boy can respond.

Not sure whose missus from the MC Army flowered to be not getting a game, but not happy :banghead:

Would prefer over AJ, problem is neither are the defensive forward we need. Who'd of thought we'd miss Houla so much!

Looking at the side I guess Ellard is in the Green vest :hitcomputer: Hope I'm wrong cause he deserves a full game

Other than that let's hope we smash em

Guess with our backline playing ok last week, theres no need to rush Bower back in, but no Army and Lucas again ?? And on a ground whre speed can be used as an advantage too... Whats going on!!!
The MC have virtually admitted that they f*cked up last week by ommiting Hendo only a week after bringing him back...

Glad to see Ellard get a game.

But I fail to see what AJ brings to the side, that couldn't be done by someone who can kick, mark or handball or at least not get pinged with the ball.

AJ??? Seriously???, did anyone have him on their radar? Ís he just to tag someone specifically? if so who?

I like the kid's heart but he is a very VERY limited footballer.

Surprised to see Joseph get a game ahead of a quality young talent like Lucas.

Hope we don't have another "Grigg" like situation at the end of the year with Lucas wanting out.

Maybe they made a mistake with Hendo but they got it right with Duigan and White. Lucas is just finding some real touch in the VFL and looks as if he is starting to enjoy his footy the way he did in the U18's. I'm sure he would love to play but I think he wants to play when he knows he is in the sort of form that will get him in on merit and then keep him in for the rest of the year. Let him get another 25 possessions in the VFL running the opposition off their legs then we can worry about finding a spot for him.

Happy for Davey Ellard. Hopefully he takes up where he left off. He deserves his chance after the past 2 yrs he has had.

Regards Cazzesman
