Wouldn't want to miss Carlton's first win over Sydney in Sydney since 1993...

A good omen is that we also drew with Essendon* that year

We have played Sydney/South twice before on the 29th of April.

One win in 1933 and one loss in 1978, both games decided by less than a kick.

So expect a close game.

Good omen is that the last big royal wedding was in 1981 and that was a good year for the Blues.

Good stuff. 1981 was the year I became self-aware and thus chose Carlton to follow despite the influences of North, Hawthorn and COllingwood loving brothers too, so if the Diana and 'molsey' links are strong enough we should be up.

Having two Tasmanians in the team can't hurt either.

I would personally like to thank William and Kate for choosing their date and forcing channel 7 to actually show the game live.

Long live the (future) king; his attitude towards Australian Football and more particularly the Carlton Football Club is exemplary.
:thanks:
