... ..i thought Hendo was nowhere near ready to be brought in, and at the expense of Thornton who's actually in form as a fwd was in my opinion a bad move.. ..and i'd consider switching back.. ..hendo's not being dropped for anything longterm, but he's just not ready yet and there's nowhere left on a footy field to hide an underdone player.. ..and quite frankly, the way the season is panning out getting an early bunch of wins with so many teams not performing well can give us a boost pts table wise for later on in the season..

..i'm not sure why army isnt in the side.. ..fitness issue..??.. ..and why his move fwd of center..?.. ..has the yaz to def experiment pushed him out..??

..crows rucks are playing shizen, would continue with the warnocvk/hampson combo to own the stoppages though perhaps lead with the hammer in the ruck and knockers more fwd..

..would like to see ellard in the mix also.. ..the way the game is being played, i think you need a good bunch of in and under players that go hard at the footy..

..hendo not ready, neither is collins.. ..give betts one more week..

Armfield is the logical replacement for Betts if they choose to drop him. It's been stated many times here and on the Carlton website that Armfield will be playing forward/wing.

I would love to see Bower in and Russell spending some more time in the midfield. Can Bower ruck for 20%?

So for mine:

Out:
Hampson - Is it time to give up?
Betts - Needs a kick up the date
Collins - Not confident enough

In:
Bower
Armfield
Thornton or OhAilpin (if Bower or Henderson can't ruck, it might be a great way to get Hendo involved in the game)

Laidler is actually around 191-192 rather than 189 cms, or at least he certainly plays about as tall as Thornton and White. Certainly has longer arms, which suits him to a defensive role.

He might play taller - which is a good thing - but the official AFL site had him at 189 last year & I think that he has stopped growing. He is certainly a better mark than White, who rarely takes a mark, but I think that Thornton is a better mark and is a bit taller. Hovever, I think that Thornton's days as a defender are all over.

For the benefit of Eddie and the team, he MUST be dropped this week. We need to make a statement that no one is beyond reproach.

Everyone has made the obvious opinions on there ins and outs now lets pray that they actually happen.
We shouldnt be worried about having to many in and under players i think thats why ess have been so good.
They smashed us at the stoppages at times i reckon you can throw the likes of ellard and curnow in at the same time.
Im a little worried about this one i hope the good adel dont rock up and its a walk in the park

HAMPSON = SPUD!! I have always thought this. He looks so goofy when he goes for a mark, not to mention his kicking. I remember everyone last year talking about "hammer Time!" This guy is a joke. He should do track and field cos that is all he would be good at... Kreuzer cannot come back fast enough!!! I would prefer Setanta as a forward / ruck option... He may be slightly behind Hampson in tapwork but he'd do a hell of a lot more around the ground!

INS: Ellard, Lucas, Armfield, Setanta, Bower
OUTS: Collins, Hampson, Henderson, Carazzo, Betts (these 5 players were USELESS on the weekend)

Waite, Walker and Setanta as key forwards. Bower, Jamo and White as key backs and let our tough smaller brigade run riot....

Make a stand Ratts - "NO PASSENGERS"

My feelings on Hampson. I've had enough of waiting for him to star. It just doesn't look like it. He is a dud it appears. Weight of expectation, self-impsosed pressure. He doesn't know where to run to, he has no idea at the moment. I like to see him come good but he has let me down one too many times.

Laidler Jamo JR
Yarran White Duigan
Simmo Judd Scotland
Garlett Hendo Carrazzo
Murphy Waite Hammer

Warnock Gibbs Curnow

Inter: Ellard Robbo Walker
Sub - Betts

Emerg: Bower, Lucas, T-Bird
Out - Collins
In - Ellard

It's very tempting to bring T-Bird in for Hendo, but Hendo is the future and I think we should persist with him for another week. But of course, the MC will need to make the call as to whether Hendo is the kind of person to bounce back strongly after last week, or if he's likely to go into his shell and needs to go back to the VFL to find some confidence....

Bower & Watson close to selection, especially given the height in the Crows' forward line, but I think White & Laidler deserve to keep their spots for another week.

Betts to be the Sub this week. Betts, Carrazzo, Walker and (to a lesser degree) JR need to find some form ASAP. A poor game against the Crows and any of these blokes could find themselves being sent back to the VFL for a spell or given a rest. Armfield, Lucas, AJ and Brock putting pressure on them...

ABNS ....very soft on Betts

The signals post the Pies game were certain players needed to lift against the bummers to hold their place.......didn't get that from Eddie on Saturday.

For the culture of the team, a favourite that isn't performing has to do his time.....he should be better for it.

Ratts has already gone on record to suggest AW went ok in the last qtr

My changes would be:

Out
- Collins
- Betts
- Carazzo
- Laidler (bit stiff)

In
- Lucas
- Bower
- Ellard
- Armfield

We need to give Henderson another chance.
Hampson should be dropped but I doubt O'Hailpin would be 100% fit.
Laidler has been serviceable but Bower a better option.

You guys need to do some research on the improvement curve of ruckmen, in particular our last 2 good ruckmen...Matthew Allan and Justin Madden.

Both struggled until they turned 24, Dean Cox...All-Australian for the first time at 24.

Warnock has just turned 24 and only now starting to play good consistent football.

Hampson just turned 23.

It turns around pretty quickly.

Reckon if Bower can be brought in why not pinch hit Waite in the ruck with Warnock and send Hammer to the twos...Waite has a good leap and would certainly provide a lot more at ground level....

I reckon exposing him to that many aerial collisions could be a risk given his recent ACL. Centre bounce ruckwork is a fine art: keeping your eye on the ball while you try and maximise your leap at it, then sticking the landing.
