Yazz was simply magic off half back, particularly in the 2nd half... If he keeps that form up, he'd be staking a claim for AA by the nd of the year

Duigan played a fantastic game in the backline too. Took some strong marks. Still got caught with the ball a few times too, but good to see him willing to take the game on rather then being too conservitive..

Was also impressed by Simon White's game. Pretty solid contribution from the young man.

just got to watch the game and FMD there has been some over the top tripe posted on here.

Apart from the second half of the first quarter, we were easily the better side and could easily have won by 5 or 6 goals.

Bit busy to post on here atm, but Hendo's inability to provide any sort of contest was the only major let down.

If we played them next week we'd smash them.

That's the bulk of the complaints. We were goalless in the first term.

That, and dumb mistakes at crucial times when we should've closed it out.

The meat in that sandwich was fine overall.

Seriously if you reckon you're a true blue u don't go about knocking your own players, I'm over so called Carlton pepole knocking our players!

Wasn't this the Essendon* that was top four, wasn't this the Essondon that smashed 2 of last years prelimanary finalist, wasn't this the team that was going to run us off our feet???

Yes they were ONE man down, not 2, we were 4 goals down against the in form side in the league & whilst we had the game in our grasps, I thought we had 3 players who let themselves & their club down, especially Hampson & Collins, we need the Kruze like Ghadafi needs a bullet in the head, but I was proud of our boys & I reckon with Kruze, Bower, Ellard, Lucas waiting to come back, I can see more upside than the bumbers & I have faith in the boys!

We are good enough & we will finish top 4!

Go Blues!

Warnock-Second most dominant ruckman in the comp and on the way to becomming the most damaging. Tap work -A, running position- A, Marking B+, Kicking A-, Ground work A+.

When Krooz comes back they will be the best duo going around.

One player down two players down......the fact is they had two players which they could not interchange off and on the bench for the majority of the game.

Add the fact that we had almost 2 extra days off from last week.......i fail to see how we were not advantaged.

It is not that is is not (entering double negative forest) a disadvantage to lose a player early with the new sub rule - its that it is Less of a disadvantage than the previous rule.

3 against 3 (1 of whom is fresh)

and then to lose another player is even more of a disadvantage
2 against 3 (1 of whom is fresh)

Well I thought having Hampson & Collins equalized their injuries! I
Share your pain, we had the game, but lost some composure at the critical stage, but I still feel we have plenty of upside in this team!

We must committ to playing the same game plan against the SO called lesser teams, last year it was the games we were expected to win that brought us undone!

THE SKY IS FALLING. THE SKY IS FALLING.

Honestly, if we scrapped to a draw today with Judd dragging us over the line in the last quarter, and the usual suspects leading the way for 3 quarters, I could see why we're pissed off.

Instead, our two best players today were Curnow and Duigan. Two blokes who this time last year, were barely on most clubs' scouting lists, let alone their best 22. On top of this, Judd had five fairly ineffective touches in the last quarter, Murphy and Gibbs had minimal influence, Garlett only kicked a couple all day and Betts was non-existant......yet we still broke even with Dwayne Russell's wet dream.

That first quarter we played today was up there with any bad quarter we've played for the past 10 years. Yet we went in 16 points down.......through no effort of our own, and certainly to no credit to Essendon*. They pretty much outplayed us for most of the second quarter too, up until Fletcher's goal, which seemed to stir us into contention. We slowly clawed our way back into the game, when we could have easily been blown out of it by the 20 minute mark of the first quarter.

More importantly, I've seen us play Essendon* many a time in the past few years, and I've seen my fair share of Ray Chamberlain specials. Cheap free kicks that aren't just pulled out of thin air, but places that you would need to pay hundreds of dollars in hallucinagenics to reach. Alwyn Davey specials. Angus Monfries specials.

And yet we survived that last 5 minutes whilst doing our best to do ourselves in anyway. Was I the only one waiting for a free to be plucked out of thin air to Monfries should a stiff breeze hit his back with seconds to go? In the end I actually thought we had the rub of the coin today with the umpires, and almost felt bad about it, when I thoguht we were going
to run away with it, thinking our win would be tarnished by poor umpiring decisions.

On top of that, we started the game with a one man handicap. Forget Winderlich. Forget Dempsey.

We went in with Andrew Collins. The same Andrew Collins who has now played arguably the worst two consecutive games for the Carlton footy club in many a year. Ricky Mott-esque one may say. May he never get another go at it, but at the same time, surely there's some irony if he plays next week and is BOG at Etihad Stadium. Another Collo not wanting to play at the G for Carlton perhaps?

Out of the 22 who played today, the form shown was fairly consistent with what we saw last week. The annual PR related ommissions will be out in full force this week, and at least they'll be fairly done. Just bring back Lucas already...

STOP MAKING EXCUSES. WE WERE SHITE.

CARLTON HAVE NOT IMPROVED ONE BIT SINCE WE BEAT GEE AND STK LAST YEAR. FORGET LAST WEEK, COLL JUST KEPT US AT ARMS LENGTH

AND LET'S JUST BLAME ONE PLAYER ONLY, ROUND 4'S FALL GUY - THE INIMITABLE ANDREW COLLINS.

Step 1 - Find the caps lock key.

Step 2 - Calm down, get a tissue, tighten down the histronics.

Step 3 - Improved in what areas?

Step 4- Come up with a logical, feasible solution for how we rectify this.

Step 5 - Post again next time we don't win?

You obviously don't handle retorts to your chest pumping, big font heading, opinionated and drivel laden editorials very well.
Not to worry, I'll add in Step 6 - Don't engage in a conversation with The Rhino in future.
Go Blues

Agree with all except marking. He is clearly a D and his mate Hammer is a U. If these two could actually grab 50% of the marks they get their hands to we would be a far better side & you can add Henderson to make up the three amigos. Another pre season wasted on drills & tactics when the most basic of skill deficiencies has not been addressed - again - Well done coaches.

Why do you bother engaging The Rhino? Most of us just don't waste our time. I mean, it's not as though there is a collective development of understanding of the issue being discussed.

OK, so we've worked on step one, kudos to you, Capslock Calvin. Now if you can tell me why you think we were/are shit, what evidence you can find to support this, and what your ideas are to change things around, then we could be getting somewhere with this discussion?
