ridiculous

Go look at the stats

Go to AFL Tables

Kicked zero goals the week after he signed his deal

Has kicked 1 or 0 gls in 9 of 13 games since then

Disgusting

Maybe you missed the bit on Thursday when Ratten had a go at Betts??

In fact in one game, from the goal square he actually kicked it out on the full when we were 3 points down and we lost. AFTER he put pen to paper.

He is EVIL.

Collins - you can take the boy out of Richmond but you cant take Richmond out of the boy... P*ss off back to Punt Road you dud!! 2 weeks ina row of nothing but inept efforts by this guy I'd prefer Chris Johnson or even Troy Longmuir to this guy. A more error riddled forst two games I've never seen by a Carlton player, and that includes all the duds were had play for us during the Dark Years..

Hendo and Hampson - At least pretend you re interested when you re on the ground. Disgraceful efforts from both these guys.
Ive said it before and I ll say it again about Hampson... I ve had enough of this big dopey Queenslander. 5 damn years in the AFL system and he still does nothing for the side. I'd rather have someone like Levi or Setanta in the side as a 2nd Ruck/Forward option while Kreuzer recovers then this bloke. WASTE OF SPACE!!!!

What makes me more sick then anything else is the inevitable headlibnes lauding the Bombers courage and Genious Hurd inspiring undermanned Essendon*.
On the other hand, at least Morefrees didnt kick that shot in the dioeing stages.. I would ve fumed if he of all people had pinched the game from us...

SILVER LINING
At least p*ss poor efforts like today will spell the end of Ratten come seasons end. when you're being outcoached bya guy who is only 4 games into his reign, then you know you re in trouble. Thers no way a side coached by Malthouse or Roos would ve put up a soft effort like that...

Unfortunately i never got to play at the elite level;

but if i was in our forward line and i saw Yazz, Murph, Simmo etc streaming through the middle, with no-one between them and me, i would lead straight at them.

Not run away from them toward goal and fly for a contested mark with Hendo, Waite and Hammer.

Or am i simlifying it too much? :donk: :donk: :donk:

A bloke who used to wear no 25 would've kicked 8 today...such were the opportunities :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Not that i'm suggesting we get him back.

OK here we go

Best : Duigan, Yazz, Waite, Scotto, Murf

Bad..

Hammer - can't take a mark to save himself, total liability, only getting a game bec Kruez (and even Santy, yes, I'd have Irish ahead of Hammer right now) not ready

Collins - MC rolled the dice and got it wrong. They'd have thought "Oh, AFL is a real step up, so let's give him an extra week to find his feet". Sorry, MC u got it wrong, two shocking games in a row. Total of 10, that;'s right TEN SC scores this week, what a joke !! Here's a lesson for you NEVER TAKE A RICHMOND DISCARD !!!!

Betts ... in 9 of the 13 games he has played since geting a $1M deal he has kicked 1 or 0 goals. 8 touches against GC. 8 touches against Coll. Haven;t bothered looking up his stats for today,. Club need to show some gonads and drop big nasmes who underperform, like St.K did with Del Santo etc. Nobody is untouchable.

When you have players like Ellard, Army, Brock, Sugarcane in the Twos, sorry but players like Betts mustn';y get games on rep only. How Colins gets a game ahead of Elard etc is a joke and a tota;l indictment on the MC.

OUT
Hampson
Collins
Betts
White

IN
Casboult - give him his first game seriously he'd be better up fwd than Hammer
Lucas
Ellard
Bower

Kruez replaces Casboult/Hammer when ready obviously

Only ONE silver lining in all of this

BACKLINE

Looked good today

Kept us in it all day

Seriously, best defensive performance from a CFC team for about ten years

Talking Rubbish

He has been out of form since July

You don't even know what you're talking about[/quote]

Nope no idea. He will be good again soon when his contract comes up. I know all about that. Inside flower out.

Sorry Verbs wrong post, have edited

It's like the stock market

But low sell high

We backed the wrong horse

But hey we were desperate at the time

But since then he hasn;t shown he can adapt as not being the no.1 target

If he cannot present a lead, cannot crumb, but can only tackle, then he is of little use to us

Casboult? Are you really serious? He has a name for being over served on a boat and nothing else. Why mention him? He will never play an AFL game.

perhaps im just hopeful, but im really not too worried.

bombers are flying at the moment, flying. the confidence is up, they mood is very positive, they are playing as good as they can and are playing a really good brand of footy.

sadly, carlton is not. i dont think we played well against tigers, you cant take much from gold coast, and of the games i think we have played pretty well, against collingwood, we lost.

in a strange twist of fate, in years gone by i think we would have lost today ...

we are still fielding a largely new defensive line, our forward line is a constant work in progress, our midfield is about the only constant at the moment.

i thought carlton was poor today, poor decision making at criticial times today cost us, combined with too many players down on the day ..

hampson - the line has to go through his name surely? i had all the hope in the world for him, but enough is enough
betts - has to spend some time in the twos? surely!!
collins - hard to guage, only his 2nd game so its hard to judge, but looks like he could do with a run in the twos
henderson - im not sure why the swap for Thorton was made? I think there is a place for Thorton in the side, as a traditional full forward until Hendo starts to show some form in the twos and demands his spot.

but on the positive, i thought Dugian was good, murphy was good etc.. its a result hard to enjoy, as i think we got away with two points, considering the way we played, but we also should have smashed them ...

That was the dumbest display of football by our group I've seen in quite a while...

So many dumb decision making, kicking to 3 on 1 when shorter options were preferred, kicking to Dustbin Felcher and making him look good.

DUMB DUMB DUMB :banghead:

I tend to agree with you Hornet, we played some frustrating football today and bad decision making. I can't see much improvement from our team/players and worry whether we can take the next step to be legitimate premiership contender

Irratic quote markers playing havoc with comprehension but all I know was there were signs at the time that Betts may have meant more for other clubs than he did for us, despite our need for goalkickers. The only concern being whether our other young indiginous players could handle losing a mentor. I don't know if it is fashionable anymore to trade players of merrit in an attempt to get something better, it never has been in fashion from us, but I digress.

Had to laugh at this post on BF

Quote:
Not a bad effort by the Bombers. Given that no-one picked Essendon* to win this week it was a pretty good effort for them to draw.

I was a bit surprised by them as I really didn't know much about their team.

Hopefully the media will start to recognise this and we can get a few articles on Essendon* in the paper this week and learn more about them.
