Fellow carltonians,

We have played in 2 finals series, have potentially a one of the best midfield, have if not the best the 2nd or 3rd best player in the comp.

Then how did we lose against a side that came 4th last, has a rookie coach and 2 players down! I have seen the same mistakes made over the past 2-3 years. I am sick of it!!!!! we have not improved since last year or the year before. What i saw today was disgusting ie. gibbs was ball watching and just plain soft. Why did ratten move warnock back in the ruck after he kicked a goal!!!!

We do not have any players out there that play for the jumper. Essendon* from what i saw does play for the jumper.

Ratten has to go. this year is a write off. i know its round 4 but the signs are not good. i hope i am proven wrong.

Well done Brett Ratten ... I thought we would be thrashed today ... excellent work ... unlucky in the end.

When we play them late in the season we will beat them easily (all the hype will be gone then).

Today was a big nail. He had a group of blokes trying their guts out who just didn't have the smarts to get over the line. If he can't get them playing smarter PDQ he'll be out.

Signs were there in the NAB cup.
Essendon*'s rate of improvement is streets ahead of Carlton's
A game plan that is a dogs breakfast. Too much reliance on Judd and Fev (pre 2010)
Gibbs not influencing games yet...When the flower will he?????
Hampson is a dud. Said it in Feb. Nothing changed
I don't want Ratten sacked as it may not achieve anything this year. He knows his numbers are almost up
TOP 4 PFFFFFFT.
Doggies better than us
Coll better than us
Geel better than us
Hawks better than us
Freo probably better than us
Ess prob better than us
Saints prob better than us
Let the usual suspects come on board with the litany of excuses
We are a fragile and flaky side with no strong foundations. Our improvement has only been marginal in the last two years.

I am really sick of this too.

Our players are simply not improving at all. You are right about Gibbs, he really has gone soft. I don't understand why our players can go backwards like that. And the fact that players like Duigan and Curnow with 4 games of AFL experience each are playing good footy proves that the a lot of our players who are in the system for a number of years are just crap.

We got our first wooden spoon in 2002 and Collingwood have played in a grand final 2002. 8 years later they have a totally new team and won a premiership, but we are still a couple of years away from making an impact.
We are suppose to have started rebuilding a lot earlier than they have but why are we so far behind??

Give it a rest Bluerob.

Raten was terrible.Outcoached from outset,.

Scum had players back, Hendo and hammer useless, ball would be sent into fwdline with no targets at all.

Took too long to get hendo off for Walker.Clearly isn;t a fan of Walker,. Tex was good for 2-3 gls a game since Syd final but now ratten has him on the outter.

Fwdline strategy today was a joke.

And why not put Betts on the ball seeing as he's hopeless up fwd? bring him into the game.

The first thing is get rid of Kernahan as President. I dont give a shit what his say on footy proceedings are. He is a mate of ratts and both should go. I want a complete culture change. You get it right off the field everything flows.

As I have said yonks ago Ratten was virtually handed the job when you compare with the interview process other candidates have to go through. He would make a great under 14s coach.

Our forward structure is a joke. Essendon* have a system of play with a coach who has been there for 5 minutes. We havent got any system with a coach after 4 years.

If I was pulling the strings I would sack Ratten and forget about success this year but employ the toughest coach to stick it up all the prima donnas.
Gibbs the guy went missing when it counted again.

This club is dumb.
Watch the replay of the final last year. Would have done everything to keep Jacobs yet we keep Hampson who is clueless

I could go on and on.

Fact is the writing has been on the wall for flower ages

No it isnt and the 2 points might be crucial when it comes to earning a home final. Not happy the way we played but this opening of the wrists is a bit over the top.

Two blokes down can work in strange ways.

Lots of water to go under the bridge yet. Plenty of ups and downs. We have claimed 10 out of possible 16 pts and 4pts lost to a team most will lose 4pts to.

The club will support Ratts until the end of the season. Then his position will be reveiwed.

Not the best result today. Some players that were having pretty good days also made a lot of errors.

The usual suspects come out every week. We know what you think. There is nothing that can change your mind, so your position has no basis in fact or reason, it is just a bias.

Please have one thread and keep it in there, week in and out.

Only people who disagree with you are biased

No point in sakcing the coach this soon into the season unless things go drastically wrong...

This decision needs to be made rationally at seasons end.

Gee, I hate to think how hard a couple of these blokes would have gone if we had lost narrowly???

Be patient with our team......... we had half (11 of 22) of our players today who have played less than forty games!!! Only 2 who have played 200 and only 6 who have played 100 games.

We are still a developing team, we have to be patient.

PS: Essendon* only had 9!
