I don't know how many more examples some people need of our MC being four steps behind every play. Our forward structure at the start of the game was abysmal and it took us almost 1 and a half quarters to do anything about it.

The saddest part of this all is that as a footy club, were regressing. We're further away from top 4 now then we were in 2009 and 2010, and that's the biggest worry.

Agreed, we still haven't beat a non bottom 4 team since round 8 last year.

True but by luck of the draw we did play an awful lot of bottom 4 teams since then.

I don't get it. Weird.

I want to beat a side that will finish higher than 12th. Hasn't happened for a while.

We beat the Saints and Geelong easily last year. We beat Essendon*, just, in 2007. You want to win every game. Don't we all?

If you are gonna weep every time we don't win ( mind you most on here were predicting a major loss this game ) games we should have then what grounds do you have to celebrate wins we should not have won?

Typical fickle.

Sad sad sad.

Verbs I'd expect to flog a side on a hot day when they lose two runners (two of their fastest) and replace with 1 in and under.

and truly when they went down we did take control and I think we had most of the play

except

it often took them 4 swift passages and about 2 minutes to kick a goal

it often took us 15 minutes of @#$%&! hard slogging to kick one. - I know what I'd rather.

Its not that our blokes didn't try - they did but trying isn't enough.

Hopefully the imbalanced setups will be redressed and we will get back on track.

I'd prefer

Casboult to Hampson at this stage.

Lucas to Carazzo

Armfield to Collins

Bower to Laidler

Bit fumbly the old blue boys today. When we did handle it cleanly we looked great. First quarter was pretty poor. Not getting the ball into the forward line long enough. Once we rectified that we looked a lot better.

We dont go the throat when we get the chance and that cost us.

Full credit to the bombers. Ofter early injuries bring out the best in teams and on this occasion it was the case. We probably expected them to fade and they made sure they didnt.

What a game though. THe theatre at the MCG was top notch.

Just back from the game also and was as dissapointed as most others should have won the game .... not sure we deserved to ....

Always thought was a danger game after putting all our effort into the pies ... How we played last week to this week against the bombers was chalk n cheese so always worry the team are flat after the big previous game..

That said ... Collins was woeful was worse than the Bombers loosing 2 men.. should have been subbed off after first quarter... he needs to go back to Bullies to gain confidence and handle the ball properly

Hampson .... only keeping seat warm for Kruzer
Hendo - unsure first game back maybe underdone but still poor effort
Betts out of form needs to given a full run in the Bullies also

so at this stage 3-4 changes for next week

Bower needs to come in possibly Ellard and armfield ... lucus also under consideration also

anyway poor effort by the boys this week

Last week we lost but still earned more respect

You are happy with an honorable lost is it?
We've been a shit team for too long now. We are suppose to play good football now but we are not going anywhere.

Casboult is listed as being injured and out for 6-8 weeks. I would think Carlos would come in for Hammer.

I agree that we seem to have to work much harder for our goals. Not quite sure why yet.

We're a 'nice' team. Nobody fears us (except Gold Coast). So we get ahead, and opposition teams feel empowered. Melbourne is another 'nice' team, totally non-threatening.

Compare that to Collingwood, Hawthorn and yes even @#$%&! Essendon*, who seem to make opposition teams shit their pants when they get a run on. It's why team like this worry us.

There was less than 30 seconds when Simmo kicked it out on the full....Id say that cost us the game

Two blokes these days is just one man down compared to the opposition. Beauty of the sub rule. Many a side won games when they lost a bloke in the first 5 minutes under the old system. Hawks won a GF with only 2 on the bench. Bombers finished the game pretty hard. The biggest problem comes when you're down to one on the bench.

I like Henderson in Hampson's role. He's been doing some ruck work at training and can to some rucking while Warnock rests at FF. Could work until Kreuzer comes back. Then I wouldn't mind him playing CHB where he played some good footy for Brisbane. That position we need to fill. Thornton back in. That was a real winner (not!) dropping a bloke in decent form that's been taking a mark and kicking a goal at CHF for one rusty and underdone. Boy, did we pay for that! Lesson number one, play blokes showing form. Carrazzo was alright today and probably won't get dropped. Collins looked alright at Richmond and during the pre-season but looks lost right now....totally. Armfield must wonder what he ever did wrong especially having Collins ahead of him. Laidler's footy is pretty good. That'll give us more time to run bower into form in the Ants.

To me, we lost those 2 points at the selection table.

Honestly it's just as likely we would have flubbed it up somewhere along the line and kicked it straight to a Scum player directly in front of goal.

Help too if Garlett takes a kick for goal rather than playing on a minute previous. We'd be the most frustrated of the two sides given those 2 errors.
