That draw was a DISGRACE.

The only reason Ratten is playing Andrew Collins is because we lost a good player for him.

I'm willing to give Henderson some more time, as we can see what he can do.

But Hampson is GONE when Kreuzer comes back.

Betts is a shocker as well.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE DO AN ANALYSIS ON THIS:
Average Stats BEFORE contract signing/ Average Stats AFTER contract signing.

I think you'll see significant falls from Betts and Jordan Russel.
Betts will be the reason we lose Murphy this year. If Betts is on a $400k+ then Murphy will want a mil!

How could we get Eddie Betts so wrong.

Nobody kid themselves.. we lost that game.
Terrible coaching effort once again.. geez anyone would think our mentality is 'don't lose' rather than win.

I am not a big supporter of bagging young players.. but Collins may have played the worst two opening games for a team ever. He has no idea at all...

As for old players. Carazzo must have cost us 4 goals today with shocking kicks. I am sorry to all who believe otherwise but we will not be a great team until blokes like Andy do not get a game. He tries hard and I love him for it, but there is no way his kicking is good enough.

As for the no passengers slogan this year, i hope they inforce it. Eddie, Collins, Carazzo all should be having a rest.

Btw thank god we had Jamo, Scotland Waite Yarren & Curnow today. I reckon they were brillant.

Stuff it. Now I've thought about it, Essendon* had a chance to win and they failed too. Stuff the one man less, we were four goals down and had liabilities in Betts, Hampson, Collins and Henderson to rotate.

End of the day 2pts each and move on to next week.

I disagree - it was fantastic today to hear the roar we gave them again and again willing them to beat Essendon* - not a fan there would not have taken any sort of win just to bat those pricks -

the truth is though

we should be better

we should

and then they lose 2 and we still draw

sorry but the Gods gave us everything and we drew.

I think the fans have been pretty good to this team. I think how packed it was is testament to the fans

I think, though, we want to win a flag.

I'm feeling bad for Simpson and Garlett.

I know they possibly cost us the game, but @#$%&! - they pulled their finger out for the other 99.9% of the game which is more than I can say for quite a few blokes.

Time will tell how important those two lost points are.

Maybe I'll worry about this match around September time, but in the meantime just enjoy my holidays.

They lost one. The other was replaced by the sub.

thought Jammo was terrific and I have not been a fan - his 2 games this year have been outstanding!

lost any chance of using the sub as a weapon, it happen so early that we should have had fresh legs and pushed them to change things up (which we did when Winderlich went down) - then they lost another - so we should have had even fresher legs.

I should have qualified it a bit more, because many are great, but a lot of the garbage that comes out is just overly harsh and whiny. Betts is out of form, but this happens and he would know it. Attacking him and insinuating he is only playing for a paycheck is a disgrace.

How good was it when that little turd Monfries missed that goal late in the last

I was sitting up that end and the reaction of the Scum supporters around me was priceless - when he marked they thought they had the game

I think the thing I miss most about watching this particular Carlton team is the lack of really "smart" players.

Great Carlton teams have always had a number of really smart players. Diesel, Doull, Nicholls, etc.

Guys who could control the game around them and rarely made errors.

Judd's a great player but he makes a lot of unforced kicking errors. Not wanting to single him out from this mob but he's the closest we've got to a smart footballer.

Murphy may be "smarter" when he reaches his peak.

Good call on the lack of smarts, I have thought the same thing. I reckon Curnow is close to being the most natural we have on his showings so far. He's brilliant and rarely makes the wrong choice in everything he does from what I see, that's with or without the ball. I had hoped that Gibbs would be that player but..... not yet.

what a game....
sorta like this....

:banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :? :? :?  :banghead:  :?:
yep..I think that covers it.
if we'da played Ellard for Collo...would've won.
I'm just so glad we didn't lose..
and we should get on with it.
We have some good 'ins' to come back..I have all the faith in the world in this team. (with a few obvious tweaks.)

No he is trying, he just seems to have lost a yard. He is becoming the 'oh so close' man. Perhaps when speed is your weapon and you've been hammered for a few years so you lose tht edge, perhaps then the spark is gone?

Should have won. Missed chances in the 3rd and Yarran/Garlett playing on was dumb.

But, we got away with murder in the last at the Bombrs end where I was sitting. Were very lucky not to be pinged for holding/high contact.

I'm shaking and need a drink so bad.

Garlett playing on against Fletcher? You are kidding aren't you? It is the way he plays, he stumbled slightly and Fletcher nabbed him. Monday quarterbacking sorry

Just home from the game. Wow, where to begin.
Slow start yet again, poor kicking for goal in the 2nd quarter, silly turnovers. Garlett's brain snap along with Simmo's.
End of the day neither team deserved to lose. We played well as did Essendon* with a player down on rotations.
A game we should have won but at least we didnt lose.
Agree with many others. Grigg>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Collins.
Next week Armfield has to come in for Collins. Eddie should be dropped.
