It's one thing to acknowledge that they're playing well. But some of the 'respect' these flowers are getting from people here really makes me sad

According to the age article they have overtaken us in the space of 3 games this season, when we both have 2-1 records :screwy:

I do hope their players are reading it. Surely at least some of them are.

The consensus of the rival club officials - a mix of recruitment/list managers and other senior assistants - was that the Bombers were marginally ahead due to their superior group of tall players at each end.

This was despite Carlton being stronger than Essendon* in the midfield, where the Blues have star quality in Chris Judd, Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs.

Essendon* was seen to have superior depth to the Blues, but fewer outright stars - such as Judd and Murphy - at this stage.

One club's list manager had Carlton ahead coming into this season, but said Essendon* was better for under-22-year-olds and thus probably ''closer to a premiership''.

That's exactly what I said in the Essendon* thread a week ago.

I feel sick.

I just keep seeing us winning.
I see Essendon* with their heads down at the final siren, and our boys in a group hug.

It's gonna happen people.

Today.!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these the same list managers that took Tambling over Buddy? And Thorpe over Selwood? Etc etc. THey should know who has won the Brownlow by now too...and next years..

Which Essendon* spud of a small forward who Ratts forgets about will kick 4 goals today?

What rule will the umpires make up or decide to "crack down on" and consistently pay against us?

@#$%&! I hope we win today

Time to get the runner's kit on our boxing coach. Sit him the F50 next to Eddie Betts and any other player who decides today is just another game.

Ten years of disappointment and inconsistency has been tough for us all. Just looking for a strong, committed and especially a quality performance from CFC today. Must kick straight.
Go Blues!

More important than our last two finals games :garthp:

Win or lose today it will not kill our season. In 2000 we were 3-3 after 6 rounds and then went on a 13 game winning streak.

Defence, defence defence seems to be the talk from both teams today.

Hoping our previous 2 games at the G will allow us to be suited to the conditions better than them. The bombers have played 2 out of 3 at the dome in nice prefect conditions. Some nice wind out there today.

Midfield pressure and clearances is the key otherwise Ryder will be too good in the air for Jamo and Hurley is just too smart for whoever we have left. Can't always go 3rd/4th man up against these blokes as they will have too many small blokes waiting for the crumbs.

Getting off to a good start and kicking straight is vital for us.

Blues by 7
