I was thinking the same thing myself Cazzes.

As you indicate White even at 7 games potentially offers something else that being a willingness to try something different, play on and at the very least offer an option.

Comparisons also need to be made with Jammo. Some were encouraged by a solid first game back, what I saw again was a player who is still slow to realize that he need to back his judgement and move the ball quickly. I would be surprised if that has not been pointed out to him by the M.C.

Whilst never having been one to put down anyone who plays for the Blues the simple fact is that whilst Carrots, T-Bird etc still can demand a game we will not have progressed.

Can't see us lining up as named. Laidler at CHB - no. Carrazzo in back pocket - no. Yarran on wing - no. I wouldn't even be surprised if Walker started in defence with White on the bench. Quite like the forward 6 as named. Hope that they stick with that one.

The last time we lined up as named was 1985.

Did we win?

Well good luck to the MC. But i can't see their reasoning with those selections. (Enter Cazz to give me shit about being on a football forum with an opinion!)

- Watson was hardly our worst player last week (see Carrazzo, Duigen, Betts, half a dozen others)
(White was dropped just one game ago. One game in VFL is all it takes to get your form back these days, so it appears)

- Watsons kicking is already more elite than 75% of our list
(White's kicking is still a work in progress)

- Watsons 195cm, THEREFORE taller than Hurley and body for body could match him in strength.
(White is about 4cm shorter)

- Henderson was wasted down back in Brisbane and we've worked so hard on him being a forward and yet we play him down back in the Bullants after he kicks a few goals? What is that going to do for his development?

- With dropping Watson (who gave 110%) and keeping players like Carrazzo, Duigen, Walker and others (who didn't give a shit) what kind of culture will this create?????

I just can't see the reasoning behind those picks. That's all.

From what i saw Watson had to go. Too many goals were being scored due to him being out there. THe coaches would have tested him this week and by the looks of things thought it better to give him games in the reserves to learn a few things about 1 on 1 defending and make sure his confidence doesnt get shot by another flogging.

Ratts is giving Carrazzo, Duigan, Betts and Walker a chance to redeem themselves after last weeks game. Fair enough. Seeing how they respond is part of knowing what blokes are made of.

Henderson played forward, back and ruck in the reserves. The coaches know what he can do . They were putting miles into his legs to get him matchfit for this week. It is also good to educate him about playing defense and ruck. Both positions he will be asked to play regular enough.

They obviously rate White after watching him on the track for the last 15 months. I am sure they want to give him every chance to take that form to real stuff.

The coaches have a lot more information than you and i have on all the players. They are experts on the game that spend 70 hours a week working on football. They dont pick teams just to upset people on forums.

Laidler on Crameri and White on Ryder IMO.

Betts is on his last chance before being dropped.

They float a bit. He's clean, but not a line breaker.

If JR goes to Monfries, Yarran to Jetta, who gets Zaharakis and Winderlich if they're playing high half forward?

Duigan might lack the agility to run with Zaharakis or Winderlich.

The decision to overlook the pace of Armfield or Joseph might be more questionable than picking White.

Especially if it rains on Sunday.

Laidler on Monfries after he took Morton in round one might suit our match ups...Duigan on Crameri...Russell to Zaharakis.

Ryder would kill White in the air.

I'm going to go "glass is half full" ...

Collins - good selection. The kid stuffed up a bit last week but was B.O.G in the twos the week before. It's important
that players brought into the team are given two or three games minimum otherwise everyone on the fringe starts
getting too nervous when they do play.

Thorton - I saw one moment last week with this guy. He was on the wing around the half back line and had just
received the ball. He took a fleeting glance down field, then turned back and looked around until he found an easy
option kicking backwards. Old dogs ... old tricks. His only future is as a marking forward and I think, and hope, that
Henderson's got him covered in that role.

Bower - Well done MC. Make him earn his spot just like everyone else has to do. Bower's missed too much football now
to be an automatic selection.

The emergencies - Ellard, Armfield and Lucas. Three lads that are our future and they're being given a strong message
that they're close.

Sub - not named yet of course, but if it were me, I think Walker.

I don't get to many games, but I'll be there Saturday.
Go Blues.

Disgraceful that Duigan is still in the side. He cost us 4 goals last week including that terrible turnover in the third quarter which cost us any chance of victory. Armfiled and Ellard will surely come into the side as late emergencies.

That last sentence is what got me so riled up about picking him. We've essentially locked Jamo into to Ryder for the whole match because noone else has the size to go with him (without stuffing up the forward line at least).

Duigan on Crameri makes sense to me. I think athletically Duigan could just about go with him.

I think JR to start on Monfries is the go. You need a player who's body smart (if that makes sense) to go with Monfries, otherwise the cheating little pr*ck will be pulling in frees left and right. Not sure a 2-3 gamer should be tasked to that role.

I agree with Yarran s Jetta, maybe Robinson for Zarahakis? That leaves out Laidler I suppose.

The other one to consider is who gets Watson when he's resting forward. Carrots won't be able to follow him there. JR/Laidler would have to be the go I suppose.

Believe it or not.....................I AGREE 100% Absolutely with this.

But, in saying that, the MC are their own WOMD. Some of their selections are questionable and have been over the past few years (granted we have a few new members to the crew).

Good luck to those half a dozen players who were lucky to keep their spot in the side this week. They'll no doubt come out firing this week and "justify" their selection.................... but those half a dozen players are 'Usual Suspects' and will put in more and more half-assed performances throughout the year, as they have done in previous years.

Anyway.............. Go Blues.

..it's not the team selections or match-ups.. ..it's gonna be our hunger that determines victory or defeat.. ..if we're hungry enough we'll beat them..
