and then she goes to get up and congratulate you on being such a champion musical chairs player but slips on her long dress and goes to grab your arm as she is falling down and manages to pull you off the chair and on top of her and then you both just !@#$%& each others brains out on the floor in the middle of the game.

causing you to lose musical chairs

Is that before or after your friends put their keys in the bowl?

One of my co-workers (a Richmond supporter) got a call on his phone today, which had a recording of Richo giving members the head's up about their first home game and urging them to come along.

Potential to be annoying is immense, but it goes a bit further than a text from Juddy.

Nothing new.... I remember getting a recorded message from Campo years ago back in the Pagan days urging me to renew my membership...

We need to get media superstars like Harf on our Comms team.

And launch a new campaign for pet memberships

Chris Tarrant appearing on OTC tonight...was Mick Malthouse on there 2 weeks ago?

Meanwhile, Carlton playing games and hiding from the media.... upholding our "Give 'em nothing" policy from the 1990's.

I think I remember hearing that actually.

We need to get more players out there, more often.

Next week...

James Hird - OTC
Jobe Watson - OWAAT

Sheehan manged to imply that the filth weren't really trying & they tried to highlight ediie squibbing it going for a mark

Yeh, we really do well in the media

MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!

CFC are DESPERATE for an extra 10,000 members, and it seems the only concerned about is getting more members.

I think its a major stain that we only have 38,000 while the filth have nearly double and the scum have at least 50+ (i think, dont quote me)
i know onfield success is a major factor, particularly with the filth, but how does that explain the scums big numbers??
the inner circle at the filth attribute most of it to Fat Eddie which is probably true because they had double as many as us BEFORE they won the flag anyway.

So TC'ers HOW DO WE THINK THE CLUB CAN ACHIEVE ITS MEMBERSHIP GOAL?

THOUGHTS ANYONE??

(do we need a high profile President? Do we need to lower the cost of mship? Do we need to reach the next generation, maybe through schools/auskick etc?
should we sign the first ever chinese player and get 10,000 'new' australians on board? should we give charlie sheen a game?
high profile supporters?

From memory I reckon we dropped about 10,000 when we traded Fev..............!!!!!!
coincidence? or the loss of thousands of Kids carlton hero hence less interest.

As far as marketing goes what are we thinking of the 'NO PASSENGERS' campaign, personally coming from a branding/advertising bground I think it SUCKS
ive heard a lot of people ask 'what the hell does that mean'
i honestly couldnt explain it myself.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

nb. manchester united have 193,000 (at around $35 per year for adults), bayern munich have 115,000
the yankees and cubs account for 50% of all mship and merchandise sales in the ENTIRE U.S
MCC have 95,000 for crying out loud

SO, on field success aside, HOW DO WE DO THIS PEOPLE?????????

Membership is certainly an area that we are slipping behind other clubs in.
I know the club keeps saying that we are ahead of last year, but so are many other clubs plus more. Our figures are probably on par of where we were a couple of years ago.
I heard on the radio tonight Essendon* advertising 3 game memberships which include a seat at the Anzac day match, Collingwood have the same thing. This is something other clubs cannot do as we dont get the share in Anzac day (apparently only Essendon* and Collingwood can fill the mcg-didnt we just have over 88,000 at the game last Friday?)
One of the perks of participating in the Anzac day match i guess.
I am sure we have lost alot of young supporters over the past decade, a generation gone because of our low ladder position during this time.
Not sure what the answer is, better social club facilities could be a start. Ultimately success on field is a huge factor in membership numbers.
