Of course, the corollary to that is that

a) We play the teams above us less than teams below us, due to the unevenness of the fixture;

b) We're a lot higher on the ladder in the last while than we've been accustomed to.

When we're on top, will there be complaints that we might lose to a team below us?

When Swan wasnt invited to the Brownlow choosing to wear fancy dress at a party I backed him to win because he got under the radar of everybody. Not a high draft pick, weird body, strange running action.Fact is I watched him in a few games and thought he would turn out to be a star mid.

He had the extra stuff that stars need
great speed off the mark
very strong in the hips. Like Ablett hard to tackle. He also could lift when the occasion needed it.

Obviously he has reached his full potential because he is less of a dick off the field and he is in his late 20s plus he plays in a good side.

When talking about this I dont refer too much in the way of stats.Statistics can hide the real truth.

Assuming a player reaches his full potential between the ages of 25 to 28 time is on Gibbs and Murphy's side.

Its just I honestly cant see these two guys becoming superstars that we hope they will be.

Very good players but not guys that will change the course of the game

That belongs to the Judds,Abletts,Goodes etc

Personally I was very disappointed in both Friday night

i don't think your use of "we hope" is correct here.

Marc Murphy is the carlton player most opposition coaches talk about stopping when they play Carlton.
If he's not superstar, he's pretty close.

Snap away Dane
Anyone who dares question Carlton (whether its inferred or actual, intuitive or based on fact, emotional or rational) is a troll
I'm very confident that everyone on this site adores the navy blue as much as the next.
But just like the parent who never thinks their child has done a thing wrong at school and goes hysterical when the teacher DARES question their behaviour, some on this site go into precious meltdown
I wish Carlton were as defensive on field as some of their supporters are off field when questions are asked of supposedly their team only

Keogh's questions are absolutely valid. It's early in the season yes! Let's hope we bring our A game on Saturday and next week against Adel in Melbourne. A 4-1 start would be brilliant in anyone's eyes.

WE ALL BLEED BLUE. AND NO ONE BLEEDS BLUE ANY MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's actually a pretty good line.

Mind you I thought we were alright in this aspect on Friday night, aside from the stoppages.

You make a very valid point, 99, but in the past we have also seen the attitude towards people who aren't instinctively negative by those who are that those people who prefer to see some positives in things and look at the long view are stupid, yes men, blind to the 'obvious' etc.

Unlike some, those who detest the carping and attacking of players and coach over perceived slights and weaknesses don't think the players or coach can do no wrong. I haven't seen one scrap of evidence that that's the case.

... I see. Curious decision on my part to not only have an aviator, but select a fictitious madman to take that position.

We haven't beaten a mediocre team let a good one since round 8 last year. Essendon* look the goods so far this season so lets hope we can get a big win.
