Not disagreeing with the rest of your post, but who have Collingwood beaten? Port and Kangaroos. Equally as potential wooden spooners.

Yep. apparently Collingwood's form has been amazing, and ours, well, who have we beaten exactly?? From all i've been hearing and reading today, there's only one team playing tonite (and it aint Carlton!!)
No one rates us. i love it when its like that. it sets the stage for the sweetest of victories!! Go Blues

If (and a big IF) the Blues get up, next week the amount of penance in the little black book will go viral :)
I have a F*ck you distribution list setup for all the flowers who have given me $hit over the last 7 years.

Can't wait to use it

Teams from Round 18 Last year:

Carlton
B: Aaron Joseph, Michael Jamison, Paul Bower
HB: Andrew Carrazzo, Jarrad Waite, Jordan Russell
C: Heath Scotland, Chris Judd, Shaun Grigg
HF: Kade Simpson, Brad Fisher, Andrew Walker
F: Eddie Betts, Lachie Henderson, Shaun Hampson
Foll: Robert Warnock, Bryce Gibbs, Marc Murphy
I/C: Dennis Armfield, Jeff Garlett, Chris Johnson, Chris Yarran
Emg: Marcus Davies, David Ellard, Mitch Robinson

Collingwood
B: Nick Maxwell, Simon Prestigiacomo, Ben Reid
HB: Harry O'Brien, Tyson Goldsack, Alan Toovey
C: Sharrod Wellingham, Dane Swan, Jarryd Blair
HF: Luke Ball, Travis Cloke, Leon Davis
F: Dayne Beams, Leigh Brown, Steele Sidebottom
Foll: Darren Jolly, Scott Pendlebury, Dale Thomas
I/C: Alan Didak, Ben Johnson, Brent Macaffer, Chris Dawes
Emg: Tarkyn Lockyer, Josh Fraser, Simon Buckley

This time around:

Carlton:
B: Jeremy Laidler, Michael Jamison, Matthew Watson
HB: Nick Duigan, Bret Thornton, Jordan Russell
C: Kade Simpson, Bryce Gibbs, Heath Scotland
HF: Marc Murphy, Jarrad Waite, Christopher Yarran
F: Eddie Betts, Shaun Hampson, Jeffrey Garlett
Foll: Robert Warnock, Andrew Walker, Chris Judd
I/C: Andrew Carrazzo, Mitch Robinson, Andrew Collins, Edward Curnow

Collingwood:
B: Heath Shaw, Chris Tarrant, Alan Toovey
HB: Heritier O'Brien, Ben Reid, Nick Maxwell
C: Andrew Krakouer, Luke Ball, Dale Thomas
HF: Dayne Beams, Chris Dawes, Scott Pendlebury
F: Steele Sidebottom, Leigh Brown, Travis Cloke
Foll: Darren Jolly, Dane Swan, Alan Didak
I/C: Leon Davis, Ben Johnson, Sharrod Wellingham, Jarryd Blair
Emg: Brent Macaffer, Cameron Wood, Lachlan Keeffe

Reading the match day thread from Round 18, the main points were:
- we were soft at the ball
- played undisciplined footy
- Swan and Dawes both reemed us good and proper
- Walker and AJ had terrible games
- Murphy and Gibbs had absolutely zero impact.... all left to Judd
- Played without structure
- Grigg was one of our better players

Lets see if anything improves this time around huh?

Really? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

It's live on 7Mate (Digital channel 73) & the Main Event channel on Fox.

I believed it once before to be disappointed... and its only the 7 website that supports it... worse case walk down the road to the surf club and have a few beers and watch it there!

You'll either have it on 7Mate or 7 Central, depending on your area. But yes, failing that - the pub.

Each change instituted by Carlton since the end of last season points to the style of game they want to play – sturdier at the back, whilst still moving the ball with pace and daring (via Yarran in particular); as potent as possible at the stoppages (with Gibbs back in the fold) and more multi-faceted in their forward line.

It is amazing what some clever recruiting and tweaking of a decent list can produce. Tonight's round three clash with Collingwood will provide the new-look Blues with first test of whether their expectations of their 2011 season are realistic. But Brett Ratten and his coaching panel have done their bit in a bid to get their team to the next level.

We're screwed...

Silver-lining to this - if we cop a belting tonight at least we won't be pumped up next week by the media ahead of the Essendon* game. If we lose tonight, then I hope like mad the Bombers win.

Yes I had the opportunity to watch the first QTR and a half of that match this morning. Noticeable for the change in personnel at the Blues - which all seems good at this stage. (Johnson was not up to it as a player, AJ looked out of his depth, Fisher very poor his whole career despite trying hard etc).

But mainly what was striking was that we just weren't 'up for it' after about the 15 minute mark of the 1st. Really, we looked completely baffled by the Pies gameplan and had no idea how to counter it. No cohesion at all. I was at the game and it was one of the biggest shellackings I've ever seen, despite the scoreline being relatively modest - 50-odd points.

I would be devastated to see a repeat of that tonight. I don't think it will happen though. Anything under 30 points a win for the Blues, and hell, lets just knock them off!

Nice to hear a few commentators say that Carlton v Collingwood is the biggest rivalry in footy.

'Bout time they caught on.

I hate to be a wet blanket but I have a feeling we are in for a rude shock tonight..

That's not such a bad thing, it may give us a reality check and force us to lift our game for round 4 against Ess.
