The changes are spot-on . Collingwood are still ahead of us at this stage though .
If we don't get beaten by more than 30 points , we will have done well .
If we win .. fantastic , but we will have played above ourselves .

I agree with 4thchicken, makes sense for Armfield to get some match fitness, if the match committee decided the alternative was to be another week as the sub, and wouldn't play in the 21.

This game reminds me a lot of:

http://finalsiren.com/MatchDetails.asp? ... 6918cbc28a

Wishful thinking of course. Don't think we'll win, but we'll learn from that ;)

So the trend suggests that tonights sub will be spelled next week in the magoos.

I think you would be part right with this. If the sub comes on and has a major influence on the game you could see him be in the first 21 next week.

I feel the coaching staff would be reluctant to have a player miss the most of two weeks of football by having the same sub for weeks at a time.

"So the trend suggests that tonights sub will play a full game next week" would probably be more acurate.

Happy enough with the changes however I would have liked to see Hendo included and Duigan is lucky to keep his spot IMO.

I don't disagree with you on this but I think Duigan's mature body albeit lack of AFL experience has helped him keep his place. He might struggle for a good match up on terms of pace though. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

So what are we thinking for matchups? Carrots to take Swan again? Maybe let Mitch run with Pendles (big call). And who will they send to Murph?

I'm not sure there will be many hard tags

Pies pretty much just run free, back their game plan overall

The game has changed, teams don't tag so hard as they used to

It is about team defensive pressure, about 18 players applying pressure all around the park

True - but you'd think Toovey would go to one of ours and Carrazo to one of theirs. The rest would probably go head to head.

G'day All

Geez the Melbourne media has been hyping the game anyone would think we thrashed two of the best teams in the competition in the last two weeks not two potential wooden spooners.

Last year we had two 50+ point losses (105-57 and 155-102 ) against the pies, I am hoping the game is closer and more exciting this year.

Not sure i'd pick a win this time but will for sure in round 17!! If we get over the line it will be Juddy scruffing hold of the game and jamming it down the filth's throats.

I hope Maxwell has some serious padding on those ribs!!!

I’ll be glued to the screen at 7:30!!

Car'n the Blues!!!

Not disagreeing with the rest of your post, but who have Collingwood beaten? Port and Kangaroos. Equally as potential wooden spooners.

The Channel 7 promos talking about all the rivalry around the clubs features clips of famous biffo. Magro, Banks, Maxwell. No Carlton players belting anyone funnily enough.

And that's because we do our talking regarding this rivalry on the field. Hopkins, Harmes, Brighton Diggins. I'd much rather be associated with those players and their exploits than the lowlife thuggery glorified in these promos.

Let's go Blues. Knock those cocky gits off their perch. Show the world that they're not invincible, and that we are here as a genuine competitor this year.

The difference is that Collingwood don't really need to prove themselves, we do on the other hand.

I borrowed Denis Pagan's little black book (which he no longer needed) and put a few names in there this week of people who think it is appropriate to niggle and jibe me as if the result had already taken place.

If (and a big IF) the Blues get up, next week the amount of penance in the little black book will go viral :)

Only a few thousand tickets left according to AFL so if you havent bought one or upgraded might be wise to do so.

Tony Shaw reckons we'll get smashed. God I'm getting sick of this arrogance.

I believed it once before to be disappointed... and its only the 7 website that supports it... worse case walk down the road to the surf club and have a few beers and watch it there!

Yep. apparently Collingwood's form has been amazing, and ours, well, who have we beaten exactly?? From all i've been hearing and reading today, there's only one team playing tonite (and it aint Carlton!!)
No one rates us. i love it when its like that. it sets the stage for the sweetest of victories!! Go Blues
