Armfield should be in the team. Bad move dropping him, I reckon.
The Ins are good though.

Congrats to Andy Collins

Very tough on Army.

i thought he was playing his best footy.

Good to see the fight for positions.

Can't say I agree

Not saying he has been poor - rather he didn't get a lot of game time last week so I think it's just time to get a full game into him via the VFL

And Collins deserves a run

Next will be Ellard

Armfield's leg was strapped quite a bit when he did come on last week....maybe still trying to get back to full fitness.

So who's the sub going to be then?

Have a feeling it will be Collins who they'll look to swap with Carrazzo if his tagging role on one of Swan/Pendles isn't working out

Not saying we'll win, but I won't be surprised if it is a good contest and we walk off with our heads held high and with good future prospects

I agree though that is also my minimum expectation. The Club recognise the importance of this game and the opportunity it represents. If we bring anything less than our A game it would be highly disappointing to say the least.

Would love nothing more than to knock them off however I'm not fully convinced we can do that.......yet. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Go Blues!

How could you possibly drop Armfield? ... another poor decision by the match committee.

WE need run ... bold decision making ... Armfield is one player who does that.

Geez you bring the kid in I reckon he plays almost a full game

Don't be surprised if Thornton is the Sub - we will need all the run we have early against this mob, and Thornton maybe is a Sub who can come on if Hammer fails up fwd or if Watto fails down back, and he has a decent tank so could even run in midfield if need be as a Midfield Sub

Easy fella - no nicknames until he shows a bit.

For now he can be 'the Richmond bloke"

Well the sub has to come from the bench, doesn't it?
Bench that I saw had Curnow, Robinson, Collins, Carrazzo
Curnow and Robinson will surely start for their intensity around the stoppages.
Carrazzo has a role to play tagging that will work or it won't but must be tried to begin with
That only leaves the versatile Collins.

If it's not Collins then I guess we'd go with Robbo?

Oh, OK, sorry, didn't know that
You may well be right then
Maybe not such a bad idea bec it's his first senior game for the year and for club so maybe good idea to protect him ie: he might be a bit jittery early?
Do you think this might be club's thinking?

Armfield is probably a little injured. Bold move by the blues but we have to get Collins in there somehow.
His preseason form was good and his game last weeks sounded very good.
The fitness team will have him in top nick.

Blues will be dotting the i's and crossing the t's for this one.

What if he plays as the sub, comes off the bench to turn the match, and the papers go with the inevitable

COLLINS: CLASS SUB headline?

Then you'll be screwed.

A run in the Bullies will be perfect for Armfield and White. Less pressure and a chance to run out the whole game. As a sub last week Army didn't get much of a run so this will be good for him. White was always a replacement for Jamo and did help the fort ok.
Go Blues!

Well Dave was spot on about the Collingwood changes. I don't understand how Duigan & Carrazzo remain in the team ahead of Armfield, unless Denis is failing to play to instruction. His kicking has gone up about three notches and he's a much more complete player.

He will tear the VFL a new one this week.

+1 for this.

I don't get it.
I hope they don't disillusion this lad like I believe they did with Grigg. (looking from the outside in anyway).

While I do not agree with the dropping of Army, isn't it great to finally have some depth.

We will tear these blokes another one. As Arnie and Matthews said you can kill it if it bleeds.

Go Blues.

for those criticising the dropping of armfield - it could quite easily be a match fitness issue as he didnt get much game time at all last week. Rotating the sub each week through the ants would ensure that the 22nd-25th players are always fresh and in good match condition
