Massive reality check coming up on Friday night....

I am expecting a reality check but not a massive one. Our backline being the thing that brings us undone. Too inexperienced and our team defense isnt at Collingwood levels yet.
Hopefully we can find some areas where we can get them later in the year when again hopefully our team has a settled backline.

For anyone heading to the G friday night

Quote:
Traffic Alert
Night time and weekend works for Monash Freeway, CityLink and the West Gate Bridge

Wednesday April 6 2010

Overnight and weekend roadworks on the M1 will continue this weekend and in coming weeks, with lane closures planned on sections of the Monash Freeway, CityLink, and on the West Gate Bridge.

The final stages of the M1 works include road resurfacing, bridge strengthening works and installation of traffic counting sensors beneath the road surface.

Night-time lanes closures continue on the Monash Freeway and CityLink between Warrigal Road and the Burnley Tunnel, through to Tuesday 19 April.

Day time lane closures are also planned over the next two weekends on CityLink through Toorak and Richmond, and at times on the Monash Freeway as far as Warrigal Road.

CityLink will also be closing access to the Bolte Bridge for traffic heading outbound on West Gate Freeway. The ramp will be closed all this weekend and drivers wanting to access the Bolte Bridge will need to follow a detour route via Todd Road and allow some extra time.

West Gate Bridge traffic will be affected this weekend with two lanes each-way closed overnight on Friday from around 8pm, and on Sunday night from 7pm.

With M1 works nearing completion, weekend drivers and especially footy fans heading to the MCG, Etihad Stadium and Skilled Stadium at Geelong, are advised to plan their trips, allow some extra time, and where possible to use public transport.

To avoid delays for weekday peak traffic, M1 works are programmed overnight and at weekends.

Where practical, these weekend works are scheduled to minimise impacts for traffic heading to football, and for other major events.

Drivers can get latest roadworks and travel time information on VicRoads website: www.vicroads.vic.gov.au including ‘live’ vision from traffic management cameras on Melbourne’s freeway network.

Latest traffic information can also be obtained by calling VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70.

More quality planning :garthp:

If Collins is in maybe Betts is out? Have trouble seeing Betts, Garlett and Collins all in the same side. I also expect Ellard to come back in. Henderson and Lucas must be considered given their form last week. Possibly In: Jamo, Collins, Ellard. Out: Thornton, Betts, Armfield.

Can't see Betts getting dropped... some of his chasing and tackling inside 50 was integral to us kicking a few goals. Even though he hasn't been prominent on the score board he is dynamite below his knees, takes great marks up the ground to link play, and you swear players shit themselves coming out of our F50 wondering when they will be stung by the mosquito.

Betts stays in unless unhealthy.

my in's and out's would be

In: Jamo

Out: Watson

Watson might be a bit premature considering who he'll be playing against. Cloke and Dawes do not have the aerobic capacity of Riewoldt so perhaps White would be the better competion for Cloke.

It's hard to say though, Dawes cut up Jambo last year the 1st time we played em but Bower kept Cloke somewhat quiet If i remember correctly.

In Jamo and Collins for White and Armfield or Duigan.

Need to do well in the middle and be effecient with our ball use, the rest will look after itself.

Simmo himself tweeted he was getting needles put in his back. But that could be anything from a lumbar puncture, to simple acupuncture. The worse case scenario would be that he was having pressure released somewhere in his back or receiving injections for pain relief/swelling in his back.

I'm going with the lumbar/acupuncture scenarios as they make a lot more sense. The other end of the scale would see Simmo on the injury list and out for some time, and they would have already announced that; no doubt in my mind.

Why? Because the club is so forthcoming with injury news?

Armies ball use this year has been surprisingly brilliant. I thought he'd get better, but he was kicking bullets both feet against the Tigers.

The others are very serious health problems, and he trained today. ;)

Well Dave was spot on about the Collingwood changes. I don't understand how Duigan & Carrazzo remain in the team ahead of Armfield, unless Denis is failing to play to instruction. His kicking has gone up about three notches and he's a much more complete player.

He will tear the VFL a new one this week.

Reckon we're a chance to do a lot better than many think
Not saying we'll win, but I won't be surprised if it is a good contest and we walk off with our heads held high and with good future prospects
