I think T-bird stays in.

Start in attack. He wont be rated and could be a bit of a surprise packet. Also adds flexibility. If needed gives another option to go into the backline if it needs help. If he doesn't play, it only really leaves Waite to swing back, which would play right into Collingwood's hands.

Going to be very interesting at selection and game. DaVe86 has almost got me convinced we are a genuine chance. Pound for Pound talent wise we match up reasonably, though their big blokes up forward are a concern. Jamo back in certainly helps and I think he needs to go to Dawes despite everyone thinking he should go to Cloke. Put it this way, I'd rather Cloke have 7 shots at goal than Dawes.

Come on Blue Boys... Let's take a great big dump on their flag party!

An email I sent my footy mate this morno (if you can have an arvo ...). I also told him we'd have a close result against Richmond and a 20 goal result against GC:

Pies'll get out to a match-winning lead early before we slowly reel 'em in. Final quarter sees us catching up and then pulling away with momentum. Blues by 17.

Dear Carlton

Please smash those @#$%&! cauliflower and wipe the toothless grins off their [REDACTED] supporters' stupid faces.

Yours sincerely

Geez has it been a media love fest for those filthy animals this week...talking three or flags in a row..
While I am not confident of us beating them, wouldn't it be grand..

Not much talk about the match, sounds more like tomorrow night is a premiership celebration complete with guard of honours, unfurling of flags, concerts etc.

I'm getting a feel for what you guys are going through in Melb. I listened to SEN via the Net for the first time last night. The two radio hosts Craig Spence (the golfer) and some other dude had, as the theme for their show " ünlikely champs" or "Ugly Ducklings turning into Swans", the first example they used was of course Dane Swan. No problem with that, what they wanted was for the listeners to ring in and give examples of other sportsman who didn't look the type but went on to have good careers.

What they got was about 200 of the toothless zombies ringing up to tell them how good Dane was and how he is the premier footballer in the country.

The radio guys tried to get the people back on topic buy giving their own examples like Andrew Gaze, Jim Furyk etc, but the ferals would not be denied. They just kept ringing in about Dane and how good he was.

The hosts gave up in the end.

I think we are an outside chance, but we definitely need some tall marks inside 50 and accurate conversions. The filth won't give us as much room in the forward half for Jeff and Eddie to run riot. We can't be wasteful this week

Thats their main demographic though, the toothless bogans and no shows  , so surely they weren't surprised. They had to mention ol' nice guy swanny to get their bogans listening in the first place.

For who JK?
I'll take a goal & a half each quarter. Therefore, keep it under 6 goals and I won't be shattered.
I know its only one game but if we get a clobbering (50 points +), supporters will have every right to be flowering angry
Personally, I think this game may be the game where Carlton comes of age (hard fought, close but dissapointing loss OR a hard fought, close and remarkable win against the odds)
I've been a critic of Gibbs on this site but I'll take it all back for a standout impact game that announces his true arrival in the big league.
Spreadeagle that filth defence with Hampson, Thornton and Waite being served on a platter by Judd et al.
GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I agree totally.

But FFS, please can Waite and Hampson hold some marks this week, no slippery ball excuses.

they have a slight advantage in talent and experience

this game will come down to how good we are between the ears! it'll take 100 minutes of effort.

Time for Waite to stand up - on the scoreboard at least. Liked his game last week, but we need him holding his marks when close to goal.

Yeah, Jason Phelan of afl.com.au is tweeting that the players had a presentation so it looks like Collins is in, given that there are no milestones set for this round.

Or ill. There's been a virus going around the club of late, and Simmo was having some sort of testing done through the week.
