I know it was only NAB Cup and only two quarters of football, so it is hard to read too much into it, but it was pleasing we had more shots on goal than them

Look we're a far better side now I think

Better kicks down back
More depth and hardness in midfield
Greater consistency in Yarran and Garlett's games
Unpredictable forwardline is developing further
Walker has been a good find up forward

IN Jamo, Ellard
OUT White, Army (needs a full game in the Twos)

Reckon Army offers us more than Ellard does, especially with Curnow in the team. That said, he needs to play a full game this week, can't be the sub two weeks in a row.

We absolutely cannot afford to kick so poorly this week like we did in Round 1.

I wonder though, if the football gods said to you, you can have one win out of the next 2 games against Collingwood and Essendon*, which would you choose??

Essendon*. Cannot stand their half-arsed bandwagon supporters jumping on when it suits them to do so, how they carry on like a pack of teenage girls at an Usher concert, and how their players have the most punchable faces in the game.

 Kyle Reimers says hi.

I will be OK with losing to the Filth as long as we don't get thumped. Will be completely ropeable though if those red and black pricks beat us (again).

If we beat the Filth and lost to the Bummers I can tell you the focus among all the media flower would be that we lost again to Essendon*, not that we knocked off the reigning premiers.

In a perfect world we'd thump both like the good old days though :smoking:

I think this weeks game will be about a couple of things.

1. Gut running for 120 minutes - which has not been our forte' over the years
2. Taking the small amount of opportunities on offer and kicking goals to apply scoreboard pressure.
3. Backing ourselves that man on man we are a better team.

I am under no illusion we are capable of doing all 3 but the Pies are the bench mark, so the game should help define our progress.

This is not time to be sensible!!

I have a re-curring image of Juddy and the boys with the cup..up on the podium. They all look blissfully happy..the sky is blue..it's raining down blue and white paper bits on them.
We are all there...all of TC..it's a great day.
The image wasn't there (in my head) until a coupla days ago.
Before that, I saw black and white ribbons on the cup.
So..is that an Omen? I hope so.
When I asked the picture when it was(as you do... )
it said very clearly...1-3 years.
Dunno what the hec that really means, but I went and put money on a Coll/Carl. GF today.
Also backed us for a draw on Fri...but only cos it was $51!!
