Hi all, tavelling down from Sydney to see a jam packed weekend of footy starting with the friday night blockbuster and with both teams on fire it should be a cracker. I predict a crowd between 80 to 90,000 providing a good atmosphere. What are your thoughts on the game ?

a bit more confident now than i was after the tigers game, but it will be interesting to see how we go with collingwood's intensity after tonite's training drill and the humidity. i just would like us to take it up to the pies for 4 quarters. hopefully we will get Jamo and Bower back, as I don't think White could do a job on Dawes or Cloke, unfortunately.
this will show us where we stand - if we get thrashed, then it sets us back, if we lose a close one, then we know we have improved, if we win, bring on the finals!!!!!!!!!!
pressure and intensity should be the buzzwords this week.

Jamo for White my only change this week.

Under 30pt loss would be respectable.

We need to make a stand this Friday, send the message that we aren't pretenders.

Should get Jamo, Bower and Hendo back. Our spine returns :thumbsup:

IMO we should approach next week as if tonight never happened, or that tonight was a training run. We need to be focused and disciplined, because these pricks are hot, and could embarrass us badly (like they are everyone else right now) if we give them half a chance. We play to our best and as a team, we're in with a good shot. To beat these feral flowers on their big day could define our season.

Need to just do what we've been doing, keep pressure on their backline so they turn it over coming out - its what they've been doing to everyone for a while now. They're probably still better at it than us, but we're learning. Jeffy G and 1Aw help us in this area. If you bring back Hendo and Jamo, then who misses apart from the obvious in White. T-Bird ? (not after his best game in ages). Maybe drop Watto, as good as he was, but then again a great chance to blood the kid in the cauldron ?

Anyone else notice the Pies are yet again this year are playing teams coming off interstate trips.

This will be a real test for us. We have had two warm up games and should be relatively fresh and fit. We need to stick to the game plaln and not get sucked in by the 'press' and the Pies rough house tactics. Win next week and we make a statement that we have arrived and top four is a real possibility.

I don't think we are without a chance here. The arrogance of the filth supporters is just about limitless and if some of that seeps into their players they might just be taking it in at 99% rather than 100%.

I recall in 1995 Kouta, Ratten, McKay, Brown, Hanna played like feral dogs against West Coast in WA.
Head over the ball in an all-out mad-dog operation taking no prisoners with total disregard for their body.

This is a BIG test... "I have been waiting for this moment"

My changes would be:

Thornton => Henderson (TBird a bit stiff)
White => Jamison
Duigan => Lucas (I don't share the love others on here have for Duigan)
If Bower is fit I'd like to bring him in the side however would be reluctant to drop Watson.

Like to see Waite at CHB. With Henderson coming back and Hampson and Thornton also playing forward I think Waite and Walker play a bit similar and Waite would be a more attacking and consistent player down back. Ellard will come in as we need his bigger body around the stoppages. Happy with the form of Hampson and Warnock and I would bring Kruezer along slowly. Wouldnt play him before mid year to make sure he is fit and ready.

Yarran Jamison Duigan
Russell Waite Laidler
Scotland Curnow Simpson
Carrazzo Henderson Gibbs
Garlett Hampson Walker
Warnock Judd Murphy
Robinson Collins Thornton Sub: Betts

I'm not normally into big changes from a winning team... but I think this week there's a case for it.

Assuming the guys to come in are fit;

Jamison for White - Pretty simple.
Bower for Laidler - Laidler tries hard, but Watson is a much better player with the ball in hand, so Laidler must make way for a fit Bower.
Collins for Armfield - Close to BOG for the ants yesterday, and Armfield just seems short of his best at the moment.

It's hard to drop a guy who kicks 4, but if Hendo is ready I'd also bring him in for Thornton.

In 2010 Collingwood averaged 12 points per game.

I'd have liked Watson to have a rest this week, but watching his kick in's I think the temptation will be to great for Ratten.
