- Kreuzer being introduced into full-scale training; 2 - 3 weeks away from VFL games
- Jarrad Waite needs to get his head on straight; loaded question from Walls

Just watched Damien Hardwick being interviewed on 'On the Couch'. He was funny, engaging and relaxed and he gave good TV.

Would I want him as coach of Carlton? Probably not. He just didn't give me the impression he has the desire and the intensity required to take the Tigers anywhere. No doubt he has deep down but it didn't come out on the telly during the interview. He looked like he wanted to be the players best mate.

Ratts may not be as relaxed as Hardwick infront of the camera but you can never doubt his fierce desire to compete and do everything he can to be a winner at Carlton.

Perception in life is no doubt in the eye of the beholder.

Ratts interview on Ten after the Suns showed us a new Ratten IMO.
He was impressive and a class above other interviews that I've seen.

1) If perception is in the eye of the beholder, why do you get so prickly when people on this site criticise carlton or Ratts in particular?
2) If someone on this site had made a comment about Ratts as you have about Hardwick, they would have been battered from pillar to post. I'm not being critical of the comment (it's your perception and your opinion) but lets hope your'e consistent with your retorts to TC'ers whose views you don't agree with.

You don't get my argument 99. No doubt I was to subtle

Posters here have a dip at Ratts because they think he isn't as fluent with the media as some other coaches. They then try and suggest that because he isn't fluent with the media he must be poor as a coach. They look at 1 thing and try and tie it to another. As I have said before; unless you are in the inner sanctum and have watched Ratts prepare and heard him speak to the players day in day out you won't really know what he is like behind closed doors. Admittedly those posters on TC who draw this long bow have always wanted Ratts to fail, so it is an easy cheap shot for them to take.

On the flip side Hardwick presented very well to the media. I think every time I have seen him speak he has come across fairly well. But does the fact that he can smile and chat happily with the media automatically correspond to him being a good Coach now or in the future? I have no idea but I wonder if those who criticise Ratts would want Hardwick to Coach CFC instead simply because he performs well infront of the Cameras.

I get prickly at times because from many of the usual suspects their posts are cheap shots based on SFA. They back up their cheap shots with nothing credible. They give me the impression they hope to see Ratts and the Club fail just so they can say 'I told you so'.

I picked up on that at the presser after the Blues Tigers game. They had just lost a game and he was in the presser trying to make jokes and pushing hard to get his nickname for Foley ito the public calling him Axel in 3 consecutive sentences. Good nickname but hard to look past the fact he wasnt sending his club a good message after a loss.
Not the first time he has done it either.

Does anyone give a fig that Cazz made a comment about Hardwick?

I noticed Hardwick's blaseness as well on OTC and after the first round loss. Interesting pick up Cazz.

Hardwick also wants to win the battle and lose the war

Throw in a little Port Adelaide and a coaching stint at Hawthorn as well.

On the plus side for him, he was either too intelligent to be made coach of Essendon* or had lost too much of the prick in his time away.

No idea I haven't heard him speak to the players before or after games. But I have seen him in other discussions at various times and he is extremely passionate about the club, footy smart and he has a strong desire to get the best out of himself and the club. He has been to the top as a player and he understands the work that is required to get the Club back on top.

I've spoken to Hardo a couple of times when he ran around for Glenelg, and he's a good bloke. Ruory Kirkby & Ben Kane, both at Glenelg, play there as Hardo recommended them to go to the Bays after the Hawks chopped 'em...

Irrespective of what we all think of the bloke it is quite clear what the pass mark is for the year. It won't matter one bit what he says, who he says it too or how he says it. If we don't win a final he will be out the door.
