You havent been listening during the off season have you - Richardson said the hard tag is dead

We will know this week for sure if Joseph gets selected or not

Could we have Ellard, Joseph and Arma in the same team, I know Arma was the only one to play last week? I thought Ellard is in front of Joseph these days, the MC may just let Juddgo head to head with Ablett. They may try to tag Judd but if he runs with Swallow or Ablett that will free up one of our mids???

It is Die-Gun even though I keep bloody saying Doogan myself :banghead:

Freakin' hell. Can we please minimise the "athletes", the "ball butchers" and the poor decision makers and not pick all together?
Ellard/Joseph can hard tag. Carrots is a magnet but best suited to a negative half forward as his delivery is appalling. Curnow was great last week. Armfield is an athlete only in my mind and not a part of an elite team. His decision making is just not up to it (and don't start me on Paul Bower!)

I take it you haven't watched this pre-season, or the Richmond game at all 33mcconville, as while Yarran has been receiving rave reviews, Armfield has been quietly carving it up in a midfield role (with the occasional bit of dropping back). He can hard tag if need be, and his disposal and decision making have been first rate.

Bower seems to polarise people on this board, but I maintain that he is our most versatile defender alongside Jamison, and provides more run off HB than some smalls do at other clubs. Has a big influence on us going coast to coast, and the stats over the last two seasons back that up.

What are peoples problem with Army? I don't get it. Was fantastic on Thursday. Kicking has improved a lot.

He's shanked a couple, but his kicking has always been pretty sound. Dobbing a goal from outside 50 after the siren to win a game in the WAFL was one of the reasons he got picked up. His handballing certainly is not great, but his kicking is good. People get prejudices and don't like to change their minds.

I agree 100% with what you say jimmae.

Perception is reality...and then it sticks for some.

Guys I just don't see much in Doogs yet. Great kick, but turns in a circle like the titanic. Not a very good tackler or spoiler. Early days yet I suppose...

I still remember Andrew Mckay’s terrible first four games that he played for Carlton, wondering why the hell he was recruited and keep on playing him, that was till the following week when he played for South Australia alongside Kernahan and Bradley against Victoria as he played a sterling game against the Vics, in fact we all said at home why can’t he play like that with Carlton, but he sure turned it all around after that game as he never looked back after that, so hopefully the same will apply to Duigan.

Spot on J. Bower is our best half back and is invaluable. Armfield is a competitor who can tag/negate and then run off and break the lines also. Both are in our best 22. Duigan is too slow too tag a midfielder.
