..last week's midfield dominance to continue and improve..

..their ruck division is weak.. ..Knockers and Hammer in good form, would definitely rotate them between Ruck and FF, with Knockers having more of a rucking role [good with his around the ground work] and use Hammer more as FF [ruck relief].. ..our mids are in good shape, and have played many games together.. ..theirs are kids, an underdone gablett [minus catters support he's used to], and haven't played much together [kids plus the new afl players brought in]..

..they've never played at true AFL H&A intensity/pressure.. ..the bye in the 1st week actually does them a dis-service in this regard..

..and it's Judd's 200th..

..they're rooted..

I feel your pain Sydney Blue, the footy show finishes at about 2am up here! and we are the same with everything else.

Also if anyone is still chasing tickets to the game give me a bell I have no need for them and my mate that wanted them is now working. they are in sect 15, behind the goals.

We don't want any complacency this week...definite danger game.

Having said that we really should win by at least 12 goals.

I think its a great opportunity to give Watson a taste(even only for a week), and Hendo definately needs a run before the Pies game. Remembering Jamo will be coming in cold as well.

Geez there's a lot of confidence here.

I reckon by about round 6 GC will be easybeats, but we're playing them in the
most important game most of them have ever played. They've got the cream of
the crop of young talent and history shows that a lot of top ten picks play pretty
well in their first half dozen games or so.

I think we'll win, but I'm really hoping that we can put them away early so that they
don't start getting any silly ideas, (like thinking they can beat us).

Humid conditions are the only thing that will worry us but we will win loads of the ball around the packs, lock them in our press and force mistakes and hopefully nail our chances early this week.

We have been poor in front of goal all pre season and it nearly cost us against Richmond. Players like Hampson, Walker & Robinson have not improved in this area at all.

True we were not accurate during the pre season. The coaches seem to think we have improved on the track with out goal kicking and it will flow through to games soon enough.

Werent we one of the more accurate teams last year.

I am not too worried about it at this stage personally.

I would think Robinson is historically one of our more accurate shots at goal, and Walker has surprised me with his set shot kicking thus far (pre-season included).

Both could work on their technique with snaps/in-step kicking.

Wonder if the Suns' coach will have the willies - it being his first AFL game coaching for four points and all.

yes, i think this is best.
maybe thornton out instead (depends on size of suns fwd line)
tempted to leave lucas as sub and just make the bower change.
all this rambling about bringing in a 50/50 hendo is stupid
as is rushing in watson without seeing some game form in the 2's
ellard will be strongly considered by match commitee im sure
i reckon the afl created the substitute position especially for setanta
hurry up irish

Richmond didn't have a clue about getting through the forward press for 3/4 of the game last week, i can't see the suns being any better. 75 points..........

You would think that they will come out firing at the beginning of the first quarter and then fade as they get more tired.

In fact i expect their first 8-10 minutes of each quarter to be strong but then fade badly. If we can hold them, we should be in for a fairly convincing win.

It wont convince the knockers, but when we beat the Pies the following week, they will jump on board..

Well i think this is what will happen judging by what i saw briefly at training this morning. He was involved in some solid competitive work with Jamo and Waite and had a long discussion with Ratts. Fitness wise should be ok.
