We've been run over in the last quarter the last 2 times we've played at the Gabba.

Admittedly, those games weren't against the Suns, but I think the MC will go for fit running players ahead of underdone KP players.

Spot on abns with this point and the one about not bringing in an extra tall this week. We're maybe 1 short ideally in normal circumstances.

Our problem is the talls available, not the mix.

2 tall defenders with a couple of '3rd tall' types
2 tall forwards with 1-2 '3rd tall' types
2 ruckmen, at least one of who can provide cover forward or back

Ideally your 3rd talls have the ability to cover for the talls in the case of injury or someone getting away.

C: Simmo Gibbs Scotland
HF: Walks Waite Army
F: Betts Hendo Garlett
Foll:Warnock Judd Murph
Int:Curnow Hammer Robbo
Sub: Thornton

Ins: Bower, Watson & Hendo
Outs: White, Lucas & Carrots

Reasoning:
Lacked KPP's big time last week
Perfect game for Hendo and Watson to find their feet before big clash vs Pies following week.
Watson will play on a kid around the same experience.
Thornton perfect sub can go fwd or back in case any KPP fails or succumbs to injury.
Yarran needs to be persisted with, shown faith.
Outs unlucky but potential best 22 should be trialed against such an opponent.

Ifs:
Bower unfit- Thornton to come in, White to sub
Watson unready- same as above
Hendo unfit- Thornton to FF, Lucas remains sub from last week

It would seem from all reports Henderson is at best 50/50 for this week. That said, I don't like the idea of him coming in for the Pies game either.

I think this is the ideal game to introduce Watson.

IN: Watson, Henderson, Ellard

OUT: White, Lucas, Thornton

If Henderson not fit ... then use Thornton (sub would be a good choice).

Thornton would not be a good sub.
He either plays or he doesn't.
The sub has to be able to run through the midfield. You cover your structures in the 21, and have an extra mid as the sub. Any team who doesn't do this, will be hurt by it (eg Sydney on the weekend).

I would like to see Armfield as a sub. He can play a number of roles and when the game slows down he could really be an x factor.

Reckon Army is in the best 21, plus he can run all day and show up his opponents for pace. Would be wasted as a sub.

As far as versatility goes, Walker stands out as the ideal sub - can play back, mid or forward.

Walker is best 21, plus has the most endurance at the club. Would be wasted as a sub.

Ahhh @#$%&!! Just looked at the TV guide  Welcome to our world TheSwan.

There will be a few places that will probably have it. Odin Tavern is the place where the WA Blues meet to watch games (http://www.wablues.com/). If you are staying in the city it is a bit of a hike out there. I'm pretty sure the Inglewood also has games that aren't Egirls or Shockers. Otherwise you need to find an illegal internet stream :hitcomputer:

We need the run of Armfield ... want him there abouts the whole game.

My reasoning for using Thornton as a sub ... is that he could play back or forward. we have other players such as Betts, Armfield, Scotland ... even Walker .. that could move into the midfield if we need them. If Setanta was fit I would probably try him as the sub for the same reason.

Watson & Lucas are the best two young players we have. They need games in the seniors. Lucas is better than Thornton, Carrazzo, Yarran & we lack KPP in Watsons case

..agree with others, you cover your talls in your 21, and the sub needs to be a mid/med flanker.. ..also the sub needs to be more for injury, and only used tactically as a 'last resort'..
