Waitey was lucky but personally, I thought scarlett was luckier to only cop 1 week than Waitey was to get cleared.

Common sense has prevailed. i thinkJarrad was pushed off balance and reacted but he could have easily been suspended and it wouldn't have been ridiculous.

He really needs to take stock of where his footy is at. He's a vital player for us and missing even 2 weeks with suspension can be deadly esp with Henderson and Kreuzer out.

No good fortune or luck IMO.

When was the last time you were kicked force-ably in the balls and managed to punch a guy in the ribs immediately? Answer: Never as you would be doing a Le Cras.

Good decision by the MRP as he never connected.

It was only good fortune and luck that he didn't connect!

Yeah obviously I'm not a bloke but I would have thought if he connected then McGuane wouldn't have been able to stand up and punch him back.

Big Footy going nuts (lol) over it of course

I admit I'm (pleasantly) shocked at this result.

Jarrad, you are a very VERY lucky boy.

I only hope someone gets in his ear right now to remind him of this fact and tells him to pull his head in.

I agree, I was surprised but grateful with the outcome

Dont you reckon thats already happened with someone speaking to him about this, I just dont think he will ever learn - he means too much to us to be sitting in the stands watching

And the football world knows he has a short fuse and could go off so it is clear what will be happening. The big questions is - How will he react? Past evidence suggests that another incident and likely suspension will come sooner rather than later.

Never thought he was going to go and said so in the post match thread.

He does some stupid things, but that doesn't justify getting suspended for a fresh air shot that didn't connect.

Funny thing is that Monga was the only media commentator who got the Waite and Rance MRP predictions correct! :sly:

somehow i dont think this will be published

"If waite was an Essendon* player you would be frothing at the mouth and celebrating this new found superhero move that saint james hird developed over the offseason. there was nothing in it play on , just like there was nothing in the mcguane punch to waites kidneys in the same play."

There's a poll there. Vote "No" on as many browsers as you can. Stuff them.

On the radio they are saying that Waite could be in trouble for kicking. Did anyone see this? Anything in it?

Nothing in it IMHO.

Not a forceful enough impact to cite him.

All the "journalists", and punters moaning over this clearly don't understand the rules.

If it were anyone else other than a Carlton player all those dumb cauliflower journos would instead be writing about how the MRP got it so right in this case.

IMO Waite blatantly connected with his opponent.
Whether he hurt him or not probably determines the severity of the action.

I reckon at the very least it was a threatening act by foot.
If someone had done that to me, and they didn't hurt me, I'd still find it intimidating, and a threatening action.

He was unlucky to be suspended for the shepherd last year, and he was lucky to get off this week...imo.

Wake up to yourself Waitey. From here on is where you make your reputation.
Everyone knows your potential, but you haven't won a flag yet.

How many times do you associate the word potential with a guy that has been in the system nearly 10 years and is in his late 20s?

Waite is not going to improve more than he is now. I'd suggest he is at the top of his bell curve.

His temper is something concerning, and has landed him in more trouble than is necessary. He's certainly no Fevola, but he does himself no favors.

I still love having him out there though. Gives 100%.
