A month or so ago I wanted to renew my Captain Club membership... so I went online and followed the links to here:
http://www.carltonfc.com.au/membership/ ... fault.aspx

Notice something missing? There is no link to the sign-up page!!!!

So I called the club and renewed over the phone. I mentioned that it's not possible to renew or join captains club memberships over the internet and the response was "I'll get someone to look into it". Now 2 months later it still isn't fixed. Why? Does no one at the club check the website? What's going on?!

I had a similar thing happen today, not Captains Club though.

The internet allowed me only one membership, and I couldn't add more.
I spoke with the girl in membership about the problem...no real concern...and then I wanted upgrades...and it was taking too long so I just got them to renew what they had on their database.

Really strange goings on at CFC in the membership dept...and this has been going on for years.

Molsey started a thread about Collingwood and how they traet their existing and prospective members.
we are still in the Dark Ages.

No wonder Jeannie wants to help out in that area...or rather take control and fix that area....with my blessing I say.

2009 joined the whole family as Captains Club members. The wife and kids HATED the allocated seats............so

2010 joined the family as Silver Football members, yet when the memberships arrived there were
3 Captains Club memberships and 1 Silver membership. Thought this was great; paid for Silver, got Captains Club...can sit anywhere with some card juggling on gameday

2011...Joined as Family Silver, received 3 Captains club, 1 silver membership again........couldn't believe my luck 2nd year running!

What the hell is going on down there??????

The amount of admin stuff-ups at the club is a joke. seriously. I reckon ever 2nd or 3rd time I've called the club for something (eg to buy guest passes) either the phone rings out or I get left on hold and forgotten about. When I finally got through to order guest passes for the Richmond game the lady said that I could 'hopefully' pick them up at gate 3... she actually said "hopefully" because she wasn't sure if they'd actually be there when I turned up!

AND WE WONDER WHY WE'RE TRAILING OTHER CLUBS IN MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS!!

Interesting to see others had issues with membership renewal too.

Every year I renew over the web and back in December my login didn't work. I followed the instructions received in my membership renewal package but could not login. My account was locked. I asked for it to be reset and a week later I received an email telling me it has been reset. In that time I just sent the paper form back and renewed via the old traditional way.

I have now selected Carlton Life member so I don't have the hassles of renewal each year.

While we die-hard fans will sign up no matter how painful the process is, casual supporters will be put off ever making that leap to continual membership if their experience is poor.

Don't bank on that, I lost my seat next to my mates assuming that.
