From Mike Sheehan in Saturdays HUN.....do not normally agree with him, but i think this is a fair wrap of Thursday night

Quote:
The Blues got a major fright, but got what they wanted - the premiership points - and they will get a lot better as the season unfolds.

Bower, Henderson, Houlihan, Jamison, Kreuzer and McLean will improve this team considerably, and Waite was out of Thursday night's game before half-time.

The Tigers aren't entitled to the same level of optimism. Riewoldt aside, they were a lacklustre lot

Herald Sun has the repairman for the Carlton Translator in as we speak. Should be fixed by tomorrow's edition.

He's right though. They're stuffed without Riewoldt. He made them look way better than they are on Thursday.

Thank you.

The 'problem' of Riewoldt is a good problem to have, however. I doubt if he's the type to gain the baggage of Fevola, unless I've missed something...

Does that mean that Richmond really are in the box-seat and in five years will be 'Riewoldtless' and struggling for key-position players whilst having a strong midfield led by an evergreen Judd? Tell me, because I really am struggling for a connection. :? :?

I don't believe the additions will make much difference

Waite- Yes agree
Kreuzer- first season return from knee recos are never great
Henderson- No preaseason
Houlihan - Is old
Jamison- Hasn't played well since his shoulder injury
Mclean- His body has gone

That is one of the more narrow synopses I've seen on this forum. By that logic we should dump Scotland, Carrazzo, Walker and White from the team on principle.

I think you have missed the point Pafloyul. I don't think the point was about the baggage. It was more about a team with one dominant forward isn't the best recipe for a successful side and it can stunt the growth of other forwards around him, especially the talls.

I've made this most appt comparison before, but Richmond are in the exact same position as we were in in about 2006. Our club WAS Brendon Fevola just like Riewaldt IS Richmond.

So sell your membership to someone who wants it, buy yourself some new ski's and head for the slopes because with your pessimistic view it will be a very sad and long season. You must a be a real hoot to go to the footy with. Just all Joy, Joy, Joy.

I wonder how some people actually get out of bed every morning.

Michael Jezz obviously didn't see Jamo play pre season.

And if you mean Hendo had no preseason, do you mean he did no work prior to Christmas?

Please get your facts right next time.

They even have their own example with Richo as the article refers to. Out Richo in Jacko and just as much chance to win a flag

walking into the ground with MJ

M: Shit Jammo's back, he's been shot since the shoulder injury - we're [REDACTED] at fullback!
Me: No worries we've got Bower back as well.
M: Bower, Bower's @#$%&! useless. Now we're really [REDACTED]!
Me:But Hendo will make a difference.
M: Hendo. Hendo's just luggage from a shit Fevola trade. @#$%&! Hendo. @#$%&! hell, we're @#$%&! [REDACTED]!
Me: Still it will be good to see Kruise back.
M: Oh please, no one does any good the first year back from a reco - I just hope he doesn't get in our way! Kruise, really now we are [REDACTED]!
Me: McLean will give us some grunt.
M: McLean is a shit player, a @#$%&! cauliflower. We're [REDACTED]!
Me: Hey I might just go sit over there.
M: Nay too close to the action, we'll see too much, we'll see how we're really [REDACTED]!

we part ways.

Now I admit this is not at all true.

I would never have remained so calm.
