That said Verbs. Who the @#$%&! kicks 12.2 in the freakin' rain?

We had to work harder then we should have for the win, but the result was never in doubt.

I have no idea where our players position themselves but this is what I see most weeks
A forward line that either doesn't have a metre of space to move OR only has opposition defenders (3-4) against maybe one small forward
A backline where virtually every forward entry by the opposition makes me nervous. one on ones with no support. Flowered if I know where the players are. Last time I read the rules, it's 18 against 18
Bryce Gibbs does not impact games. For all of you with an undeniable man crush on him, you need to start accepting this
Shaun Hampson still has no idea about the game. How long must we wait
Yarran needs to rotate b/w back centre and forward. Ratten will make him too predictable at hb
Forget scoring shots, our injuries or the opposition. Our 'structure' is a dog's breakfast
Robinson bleeds blue. don't drop him

Perhaps you should apply for the coaching job at the end of the season  :donk:

(which is 24 weeks away!)

I'd like to know how one decides if one "don't like it" if they haven't read it? :?

Where to start?

Ratts needs to go, one week in and hes returned to his old ways.......goin in with one proper KPP is ridiculous even more so when the sub is a small also. No Jamo, Bower, Hendo and Kreuz.
Would of liked Laidler given chance on Riewoldt and either Thornton or White tried fwd for second half.
Too win with no real spine was a decent effort.

Kickin it long to blokes under 190cms is pointless. White got murdered(Thornton too), ball went Riewoldts way 6 times for 6 goals. Lucky he had limited opportunities.

Curnow good
Warnock good in ruck
Robbo involved but pumps high to no one too much.
Gibbs alot of effective EASY disposals
Hammer/Walks should never be key targets again
Yarran couldn get into it.
Kicking for goal was woeful. Alot of set shots missed

Waites reckless horse kick??? Yes stupid and potentially dangerous but made minimal impact, will be interesting given his history.

Bower, Hendo hopefully back next week...........Waite 50/50.

Those three in for full games would make massive difference.

Carlton's terrible disposal and kicking at goal combined with Richmond's accuracy (which they'll struggle to match again this season) has people jumping at shadows.

More disappointment Verbs when you know they are professionals (players and coaches) and spend all pre season "getting ready'.

Apparently Richmond would be full of running in the last qtr due to having less rotations...this was said by all commentators :screwy: :screwy:

Also, with 3-4 minutes before the half time siren, surely we could have kept Waite on the bench and reassessed him at the break...then, if he was still suffering keep him off... Not very clever by our coaches..(unless he was seriously concussed..which didn't seem to be)

Can't do that. If there is any sign of concussion, he has to be benched for the remainder of the game.

Sheesh, talk about making Richmond look respectable. I know we have a few Collingwood coaches, but was anyone aware James Manson is our goal kicking coach?

We smashed Richmond, full stop.

Now add to this result a complete spine missing and we did well to have as many shots as we did.

Waite being subbed, get a grip AFL you got it wrong tonight.

Our midfield is seriously good, although we did tire from pressing so often with no results (goals). Curnow and Ellard will see to Brock struggling to get a game.

Robbo needs to work on his kicking now, the rest of his game is developing nicely.

When you're GF is Megan Gale, your hands need to work magic, Hammer was great with his marking most of tonight, he's discovered that soft touch :sly: (Still can't kick for shit)

Duigan was good as was Laidler. Duigan kicks like McKay as well, not pretty but I think it's effective.

One negative in defense was three up and nobody down in the first half, then mis-communication in the last mainly. Massing the regulars doesn't help, hence why I think Watson didn't end up playing.

The amigos did well, Yarran was well tagged by White.

Walker played his role, Manson is having an impact on him as well.

That was God Awful.

Just terrible!!!

- what is our forward structure? Here I am blaming lappin all last year, only to see us play that way inside 50?????? Give me a spell would you!!!

- Why all The praise to Warnock??? He was outmarked by somebody 2 foot shorter than him in the bloody goal square!!!!!

- kicking backwards / holding the ball in the air!!! Ooooohhhhh my GOD, that is soooooo 2009! And 2010! (Jesus it's like dejavu!!!)

- where are our crumbers? Eddie was playing like a 6foot leading target tought! He should be the one at ground level! Bloody hell!!!!

- great that we get a win....... But if you think that shit will beat the other 7 teams that finished above us last year then your plain wrong!

2 years ago, our slogan was "they know where coming!". NOW...... We know what's coming.... It's the teams below us improving whilst we dish up the same old crap!!!!!

Woeful!!!!!

Look the game should have been over at quarter time, half time at a pinch. 2.7 in the first term is unacceptable. One behind was rushed, one a hurried snap and one of Warnocks caught the wind - the others were sitters.
34 scoring shots to 20 at the game's end!!!!! We smashed them in the ruck, clearances and inside 50s yet only won by 20 points and looked gawn midway through the third.

What worries me is how friggin easy they made it look kicking into their forward line. I know we had half our backline out but still Riewoldt was making White and Thornton look useless. Depth in defence an issue.

Fingers crossed for goal kicking practice this week!

Also why would you sub Waite right before half time..wait til the break check him THEN decide...FFS

I think Yarran's game was shot in the opening minute, when he ran past Warnock to receive and pump it long, but was immediately tackled (White?). Had he been clear and delivered well into f50, he might have gained some confidence and gone on to play a more significant role.

It sounds trivial I know, but I think his confidence is just that fragile at the moment.

umm

cant believe what im reading

we smashed them in inside 50s and clearances

pls dont mention our structure ... we were playing with only 2 key position players - and they were ruckman

its the equivalent of a team of mids playing against a fully strcutured opposition

and yeah we kicked terrible - but we won :)

had a few players out and round 1 so dont expect us to be at our peak but a few observations
hampsom is shit
walker is not a forward
gibbs is soft and will never be that high intensity player we would love him to be.
waite has to be the dumbest player on our list
we are no closer to winning a premiership
curnow looks really good
robinson has improved and as someone said previously he has no fear and i laugh and applaud his efforts at the same time.
lets chill on yarran, first game at half back
likes armfields game aswell and the usuall suspects, dont need to name them
we will get better no doubt when henderson, kruezer, bower, and jamieson come back

Where do you suggest we play Walker? We have tried him everywhere. I thought he played ok. Looks to have bulked up in the off season. Could have kicked straighter tonight though. Yes Waite's brain fade was not a good look but with a bit of luck he will not get whacked during the week.

Unfair criticism on Gibbs. He has been injected into the midfield to be a classy outside player.. not a hard nut. The structure is clearly Robbo/Curnow inside Judd a bit of both and Murph/Gibbs outside...

Gibbs was very influential on the game.. get over yourselves.

Waite's "kick" looked worse than it was and it didn't even look that bad.
