Carlton look far to strong on paper with Garlett and Betts to dominate up forward

Blues by 45.

I was the only one on any forum to state Bower had a ankle injury. Other's posted "heel" and "calf".

We had people pop up here with ankle/foot before you and they said 2 to 3, which has since been proven to be correct unlike your statement of 6 weeks (he trained today, there are photos).

Glad to see you're keeping score, it's very important. :yikes:

I think Carrazzo may be the sub. He missed a bit of the pre-season and hasn't played a lot of football

Agree with this. Thinking exactly the same.
Also after being nervous for the past few weeks, I'm quitely confident now that I see the teams. Our forward line/midfield should be well and truly too strong and apart from Riewoldt and Morton they don't have too much to worry us with up forward, so Laidler/White & Thornton to do the job for mine.

Go Baggers.

Thornton at CHF was very good against the crows. I would be tempted to go with that at first and see how we go with white and Laidler taking their tall forwards. Perhaps the new setup with spare blokes in the back fifty things will work out fine.

Thorntons experience would be handy in the backline though.

I thought the MC would risk an underdone Hendo. Our forward line looks poorer without him. I suspect the MC are counting on a wet track...

With the new interchange rules, they might also be thinking that it's even more risky than usual to take too many underdone players in. We already have a few blokes who will go in with question marks around their fitness - Murph, Betts, Carrotts, JR, White & Yarran.

The side looks shortish. I wonder if there's going to be a late change? Possibly Watson in for one of the running players under an injury cloud? Hendo or Watson in if the rain doesn't eventuate?

Lucas is lucky IMO. He is a promising player, but I thought he'd played himself out of the side in the Adelaide & Geelong games. On form, you'd think Collins would have been ahead of him. I'd love him to prove me wrong on the big stage tomorrow night

GO BLUES!!!

Richmond will have a real go early, we will then take control and smash them 40 pt plus win

Late change of Carrazzo out - Collins in is a real chance IMO.

And Carazzo.
Ratts was on radio today saying we wouldn`t be playing any injured players yet we have selected Carazzo who has had a very interrupted pre- season, only played a half against Geelong and stuffed up everything he touched.

I couldn't agree more, and he wasn't much better for the Bullants.

I would be very surprised if there are no late changes....

Carrazzo was shithouse against Geelong, but if Ratten was to go to war the first player he'd take with him would be Carrazzo.

Shows our increased depth to be able to field a side that looks like winning despite all the outs. Imagine that many out a few years ago :yikes:

Time for Gibbsy to show us how good he is in the midfield

Blues by 28 after a spirited first half from the Tiges.

I'm very pleased to see Thorton get another go. I've been as big a critic of his as anyone
with regards to how he appears to conduct himself on field but .... I don't think anyone's
beyond redemption and he's got his chance now.

I'd love to see him make himself "undroppable" and force Bower or whomever to work their
way back in through performances in the Bullants.

Good luck T-Bird.

When Carlton were up and about last year, Simon White was a intergal part of the backline. Good to have him back.

Have to disagree with you on that one Hotcox. I hope he turns out to be a star, and I
like a couple of things I've seen the kid do, but an "integral part of the backline" ...
nuh - not by my reckoning.

Yeah WHite and Lucas played in our 2 best wins over the cats and saints.

Does anyone know where Casper the friendly ghost (Matt Austin) is????? He was EXTREMELY lucky not to get delisted and by the looks of it he is injured again.

hasn't Waite kicked the first goal of the year the last 2 years?? If so, I'm backing him to
make it 3 in a row.

Not injured, just getting some miles in the legs in the VFL. He's got a good chance to get himself in the mix despite the recruitment of Laidler.
