Our pre-season has definitely been low-key.
I think we need a good win against the Tigers and Suns to get people fired up to join.
If we are 2-0 with a big percentage Rd 3 against the pies will be HUGE.

I would be happy with a fighting win against the Filth in Round 3 .......... followed by a percentage boosting pants splitting flogging against the Scum in Round 4.

Seems to be a bit of a jump in early April the last two years.

First match...

Not a hope in hell of 50,000 sadly.

For whatever reason Carlton supporters seem to sign up late compared to other clubs.
This morning radio reported that Collingwood has over 62,000 members and are worried about their round one match against Port which is at Etihad. If all their members decide to go many will not get in.
Just goes to show how far we have fallen behind Collingwood in this area.

We're tracking for about 42-43k at this point you'd assume. That's just OK considering Essendon* should hit close to 50k, and Collingwood are of course well over 60k.

The MCC initiative will pull in a few more next year, but the raw numbers don't look great. If I get time this week I'll put those three up alongside each other in terms of membership packages offered and revenue figures derived from membership (those figures should be available in annual reports).

If Jeanne's been brought in to handle fundraising and membership, then it shows the club is at least aware it is falling short in these areas. Will be interested to see what type of initiatives are presented for 2012.

I tried to buy a few more memberships today.
I got one signed up on the website and then wouldn't allow me to finish off the rest.
Such a bad experience for me...I'm too busy toi be stuck on that sort of crap.
Rang up, got a young girl on the phone, I did want to upgrade a few, but that was going to take time and I was out of patience so I got the same as last year.

I'm sure Jeannie has been made aware that just because the memberships are increasing and some people are patting themselves on the back, the increase in memberships has not got much to do with what the Comms, MKting or membership dept is doing right, but rather the supporters are backing the club since our dark period and we are breeding.

Yes I didn't find it easy to change or even to renew my membership online either. It's something that should be fairly easy to do yet we still seem to make it as difficult as possible.

Sticks on AW last night mentioned we were up to around 38k - I believe I heard that correctly.

We must have had a good couple of weeks. I'll get mine sorted tomorrow night.

He sounded confident of getting 45k, less so of getting 50k.

That said the speed at which I recieved my membership pack was amazing. I didn't expect it for a few weeks.

If we are 5 wins straight at the end of April (it is possible) there might be an influx in May but other than that I can't see us getting over 45k which is not a bad effort IMO

Don't Richmond included non-ticketed members in their figures which the AFL don't?

Richmond have done a bit of a dodgy this year and don't actually have any non-ticketed memberships. Their basic one includes a 3 game membership.
