Not long left before the big game on Thursday and still no stuff to take to the game. Can live with that.

No announcement via the website, email, twitter, facebook, smoke signal, whatever that perhaps you could pick these kits up at the ground, and in doing so, would probably save the club heaps on postage?

Where's the initiative?

At the Geelong game, I went into the club shop, and without any spruiking required, asked the woman behind the counter for a Blue Believer and a Spirit of Carlton addition to my AFL membership.

Deer in headlights look ensues.

Tries to find my membership details in the system. Nothing there. Told to ring the AFL membership line to confirm my details. Told her I've never had such a problem in years gone by. "Are you a new member maybe?" "No, I've been a member since 1995".

Finally looks me up by address, and finds the problem. They haven't got a first name for me, only a surname. No wonder all my stuff seems to come up as "member since 2004".

Apparently it's fixed. Two weeks later, and an attempt to give me a receipt that nearly starts a paper fire, I haven't received anything from the membership centre. Can still get a confirmation that my kit hasn't been sent out yet. Twice I've volunteered my time to that same membership centre whilst on annual leave over Xmas, and was told they were fine.

Can't even call it amateur hour.
