Robbo being negative about Carlton ? NEVER!!

Actually Robbo isn't too bad with Carlton. I think he has a minor soft spot for them. He did, however, have that major brain fade last year picking Essendon* to finish in the eight because 'I just think they're a better team than Carlton'

Robbo isnt half as bad as everyone makes out.

No. He's worse.

Interesting to see that Pendulbury declared that he wants to stay at the pies, but is waiting till the Collective Bargaining Agreement to see how much the salary cap is increasing so he can 'get a bigger slice of the pie'.

This does not happen till the second half of the year.

I would dare say Murph will be waiting for the same thing.

I reckon then this negotiation will linger for most of the year.

The only thing that is interesting is what Tom Scully says today.

The article was based on Mark Robinsons opinion. He later on implied that Carlton thought the contract was close but the thoughts were not necessarily those of Murphs Manager.

interesting is an err interesting adjective to use for his presser.
It is clear that he wants to play 'week to week'....
a lot of 'week to week' there.
he is there to play footy..just the footy maam..stick to the footy.
he has learnt how to chuck a few cliches at the meedja.
outcomes..due processes...he'll just play..leave his future in the hands of managers ..yep..why would he be interested in how much money or which club he ends up at.
none the wiser i reckon...except that Melbourne will have to oofer a lot of money to keep him.

I think the GWS will struggle to get the "names" to sign for them.

Especially if you're from a up and coming club like Melbourne or Carlton.

Actually last time Murphy didnt sign up until after the season has finished. It was after the B and F and just shortly before trade week began. His name is still being brought up on talk back radio and this may drag out for a lot longer yet.

I think they'll be in with a chance when inevitably a good team struggles to produce results and look to be on the decline. I'm looking at St Kilda, Hawthorn, etc.

I really don't get it, if you're loyal to the club and really want to be a one club player, then you come out and say you want to stay. If you're any good you will be paid what you're worth to the club.

Why have a press conference to confirm nothing? Pointless exercise that continues the speculation.

Thats because we were waiting on AFL approval.

The deal itself was agreed to long before it was announced.

Jake Niall from the Age is at it again.

He is saying that along with Tom Scully, he UNDERSTANDS Murphy is the other who has been offered a 6 year contract.

Perhaps to pump up GWS offer.

A six year deal on top money would be hard to pass up and i wouldnt blame him if he left. Mad not to.

A flag this year for the blues and the next six years on top dollar would be a dream come true for any player.

If he goes lets hope we get a gun replacement.

Is a mid 1st round 17-18 yo adequate compensation for a former No.1 pick, goal kicking mid with ~100 games up?

Would've thought late 2nd round, early 3rd round myself. But yeah, if we could somehow land pick 9 for Murphy I'd be over the moon. Maybe we could throw in Krueze and get pick 7 as well.
