Couldn't help but belt out a loud laugh to that one.

Just a head's up that CB may have alerted Murph to this thread in a tweet. If you're lucky, he's already viewed said tweet...

I thanked Marc for making the effort to get the photo via twitter - his response? "no worries mate"

Happy with that.

Great to hear the guys doing this sort of stuff. One of those things that doesn't mean much to them, but will have a lasting affect on the kids.

Very true and the converse is also true.

George Lopez is a Mexican-American comedian. He has a talk show that airs after Conan. He's very good.
Anyhow he tells the story about how Erik Estrada snobbed him off when he was a kid and refused to shake his hand. He dislikes the man and lets everyone know.

These 2-3 sec moments do mean a lot to kids and as Camel says, they hold on to them forever.

Reminds me of the recent story about Beckham stopping to help some random guy push his car off the road when everyone else was just driving past.

They might be rich and have the adulation of thousands, but if they've been raised to be decent people they still know to do the right thing.

Marc's demeanour is a credit to him, his parents and the club.

Pity the "meeja" only focus on the negative stuff.

......and it works on adults as well. I thought Becks was a vacuous doofus, but hearing he helped some bloke push his car does alter my thinking of him.

Great work Murph

Something so small can mean heaps to someone

I remember how rapt I was when I got my first ever players signatures when Vin Catoggio and Alan Hamilton turned up my primary school in Carlton to do a footy clinic. It was a huge buzz to get them to sign a piece of paper for me.

Alan who?

Alan Hamilton was an U/19's / reserves player for teh Blues from late 70's to 1980. Never cracked it for a senior game, but played in back-to back U19's flags and won a B&F with the thirds.

Just got back to this thread.

Thanks Bomba.

:thanks:
