Am I the only one who thinks it is strange the media keep saying Duigan is a tall defender, when in actual fact he isn’t?

Can't give any links right now, but I have read 2 maybe 3 articles recently that have said Duigan is a tall. Hmm, at 186cm ????

I wouldn't worry too much, after all, when Betts plays as your sometime CHF, everyone else is tall by comparison.

They know we're the only club to cheat the salary cap.
They know we're the only club to benefit from third party payments.
They know that once a Blues player, always a Blues player, but only if you do bad stuff.
and apparently they know that bagging us and talking up teams like the Bombers sell papers.

We are the most hated team in the league, therefore it is all deliberate misinformation.

Great isn't it!

I remember when we drafted Campo, some moron from the sunday age who's name escapes me, said we drafted a ruckman and bagged us for not drafting a quick mid with good skills as that was what we needed!

Well there you have it.
It has been going on for decades.

Who really gives a @#$%&! what they say if we're winning flags?
If you agree, we need to win one soon let alone a couple we're all expecting.
i'm expecting 3-4 over the next decade. but that's me.

I would have thought that P Roos would have a greater understanding of how the draft/trade works than this smug piece of drivel.

His comments on our recent trading are just plain wrong, most teams do very little in trade week, we are always trying to improve our list via this option and have got good result in the big man stakes with hendo, warnock and laidler (although this last one is unproven somewhat) but definitely these moves were designed to bolster perceived weakness.

Roos is in favour of the Brock trade except that he thinks we should have traded for a big man instead of a inside mid - which by the way, we have been very desperate for to open up room for Judd and Murph.

Roos then makes the inference that with all our 1st picks we should have gone tall and now have an unbalanced list......too many mids :screwy:.....what about Kruez Mr Roos???

Roos has shown he is not particularly clever on the trade/draft table if this article is anything to go by. Quality mids are vital and a team certainly needs a good number, as for talls, you can only recruit talls if there are decent enough at the time your pick has come around if not pick the best player you can, unless the quality difference is minimal.

I think P Roos can coach and has shown to be able to get alot out of a very limited list but I certainly dont think he is as clever on the trade/draft front as he would suggest he is in this article. He's a smug bastard I reckon

i agree and im happy for those nuff nuffs to focus on the unbeatable pies and the surging bombers and the not finished yet pussies etc......

I just think if you are going to take a swipe at my club, you should have done some research and show you know what you're talking about.

Still i hope it fires up the boys, Ratts included.

I kinda like Roos but this is a piss-poor article.

Carlton is a different beast and, I feel, has done poorly with its list management in the past 2-3 years.

Yeah?

I reckon if you're going to make the big statement you have an obligation to back it up with at least some
hint of detail. What have they actually done wrong?

I suppose we did trade away one talented key position player of note. No one seems to bothered by that now
but it was actualy a pretty courageous decision at the time. Warnock ..? I wouldn't be saying anything critical about
that acquisition until at least the end on 2011. Judd ..? Seems to manage to get a game. Ironically the one that's
most in doubt at the moment, McClean, is the one he seems to like.

Is he referring to the drafts? Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer, Lucas, Yarran ... Right now I wouldn't send any of them back.
I certainly wouldn't swap Yarran for Rich which was mentioned a lot in their debut year.

Anyway ... I'm just venting a bit here. It's impossible to answer a critcism that vague.

sorry to bring McLean up again, but besides that trade I think we have done fairly well with our list management

Well, many in the football media are not journalists and also very lazy. I remember listening to the radio during our games and these so called specialists talked about certain players being "dropped" or out of favor, when they simply were injured and on the injury list. Think, a guy is assigned tour game as a caller or specialist commentator and don't even bother checking the injury list. Typical....

Funny how Roos makes no mention of his former team and that they will need improvement from their exisitng players.

Swans Recruitment and Roos = :garthp:
