There are five Carlton songs that I know of.
The Club song, Carlton Song 1920, Song of the Blues 1935
Blue is the Colour, and How Blue are you 1991.

Also the Peter Motley song for his rehabilitation.

I have put some of these on Youtube as video Karaokes.
Blue is the Colour is next.

I am having trouble understanding some of the words in the
How Blue are you song sung by our great 1990 footballers.

I have an MP3 of it. If anyone wants to listen, and try and
decipher the missing words, I can put it up on a site to download.

Well done tcblue!

I'll try to decipher How Blue Are You if you upload it.

I wasn't aware that the Peter Motley song was released on cd. I only have the 7".

Or should I say 45.

"Blue is the colour" (if it's the same song I'm thinking of) is/was actually Chelsea's.

I remember hearing it on the PA after a PP game in about 1985 and thinking it was ours and I loved it.

"Blue is the colour and
football is the game.
We are all together,
and winning is our aim:

You cheer us on,
in the wind and rain;
and football,
football is the game"

That would be great if you could do that.
The MP3 is here.

It is actually "Blue is the Colour" that I canot get all the words for.
As KKK said we Pinched it from Chelsea and rewrote a lot
of the words.

These are the words I have, with question marks for the
ones I cannot get.

Blue is the colour, football is our game
We're Carlton boys together and winning is our aim
And show me (them ???) win that flag again
Coz Carlton, Carlton is our name
Down at princes park whether rain or fine
We can shine, all the time
(Though ???) your away come and see us play
Your welcome any day

Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're Carlton boys together and winning is our aim
(Just ???) show me them win that flag again
Cause Carlton, Carlton is our name
Down at princes park with the ? ? ?
The navy blue, to see us through
if the ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
See Carlton every time.

So.

Blue is the colour, football is our game
We're Carlton boys together and winning is our aim
And show me (them ???) win that flag again
Coz Carlton, Carlton is our name

.

Yep, the song was also adopted by the Aussie Test Team in the '72 Ashes tour of England.

The line you had as starting "and show me" is, I think:

We're sure we can win that flag again

tc, I've had a bit of a listen (at different speeds even), and that's my take on the lyrics so far (in green above).

Will give it another go soon.

Thanks. That is looking good. I have listened to it more times than I can remember.
They are footballers of course. The music drowns it out also.

After a winning game they sing the club song in 7 different keys at the same time. :-)
