I still remember when he was drafted as I used to work at our Yarrawonga plant and we used to stop in Benalla for a coffee on the way up and there was a big article on the back page of the local rag. I remember him telling the journalist something like it good to be drafted by a successful club like Carlton as you get the opportunity to play finals on a regular basis.

Poor bugger as this article was written either late 2001 post draft or early 2002 - so he had to wait 8 years for a finals gig

[“I just joked with the boys when the bus pulled up that that’s the ground where a kicked a few goals,” Waite said at the official reception attended by the Major, councilors, local football officials and identities, together with a number of school children from the area.]

I bet the major was impressed!

Does anyone proof read these articles??

He's a sort after sort.

Then gets sort of quoted thus:

“I just joked with the boys when the bus pulled up that that’s the ground where a kicked a few goals,”

Hmm.
